do you mean all the 'controls' of the mdicontainer or all the 'forms' of the mdicontainer that are open (I can't imagane you mean controls because if you use controls in a mdicontainer they will always be ontop (even on top of any form that you put in it)).
if you mean forms like I think you do use the work around since you can't access the name if its in the container

Hi all,
I can able to fetch a single data from Sql and display it in the Excel sheet using Macro, this is the code.
I am getting in the Text Box:
sno = TextBox1.Text
When i am clicking the Ok button:
Query = "Select sname,scity from smaster where snum='" & sno & "'"
Set QueryRs = oConn.Execute(Query)
Sheet1.Cells(1, 1) = QueryRs("sname")
Sheet.Cells(1, 2) = QueryRs("scity")
Result:
Name, city displayed in the Excel sheet1
Now my problem is how to fetch multiple data and display (like how to use loop in it)
waiting for timely help

dim rst as dao.recordset
dim query as string
query = "select sname,scity from smaster"
set rst = oconn.execute(query)
dim i as integer
i = 1
do while not rst.eof
Sheet1.Cells(i, 2) = QueryRs("sname")
Sheet.Cells(i, 1) = QueryRs("scity")
i +=1
loop
I think this will work (haven't tested it dough)

Hi Guys,
I have a form that have a form that has a combobox, textbox and 2 button.
textbox:IDNo, Time in and time out
combobox:Team member
button1:lates
button2:overtime
Now, when I select on the team member combobox, it displays the team members idno, time in and out.
when you press the late button.
I used 2nd form for it with a datagrid. That displays all the lates of that team member.
The problem is i used this code to the 2nd form.
sql3 = "Select IDNO,DATE, ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE, TIMEDEDUC, REMARKS from LATES where IDNO =" & "'" & txtidno.Text & "'"
Dim cmd As New OleDbCommand(sql3, conn)
da.SelectCommand = cmd
da.Fill(ds, "late")
conn.Close()
since there is no textbox on the 2nd form it has wiggles.
How can I solve this im kinda lost......
Thanks.

there are several ways to solve this:
1) make a property iIDNo (or something), make this property public and then in the 2nd form you can acces it like this: form1.iIDNo
2) make a contstructor with a parmeter (new(iidno as integer))on the 2nd form, when you click on the button you call the 2nd form with the parameter: dim frm as new form2(txtidno.text) in the contructor you then initialize a local variable wich you can use in the sql string
3) same as 2) but in stead of giving a string or integer with the constructor you just give you're form1 with it (new (ffrm as form)) on the click: dim frm as new form2(me)) in the constructor you then initialize a local variable (private frm as form) and 'fill' it frm=ffrm
then you can access you're textbox by: ffrm.txtidno.text
hope this helps

Hi Guys,
I have a database that stores time for example an attendance record.
The problem is when I displayed it to the datagrid those columns containing
time, show as dates on the datagrid. Why is that?
Hope you can help me with this. Thanks a lot.

Because a time cannot exist in the database without a date. Really, all you have to do is format the column to show only the time value. The date part, usually Jan 1 of some year, can be ignored.
|
|
|
|
|
What you mean is format the column to show only time on the database? right?
|
|
|
|
|
You don't format the date/time in the database. Formatting is done in the user interface for your application.

When you create your columns for the DataGridView, you simply specify the format string for the DefaultCellStyle:
DataGridView1.Columns("MyColumnName").DefaultCellStyle.Format = "M/d/yyyy"
or, using the culture-specific short date format for the current thread:
DataGridView1.Columns("MyColumnName").DefaultCellStyle.Format = "d"
All you have to do is Google for "datagridview format date[^]". There's lots of examples out there.

You should use a virtual or relative path to the css file, not a physical path.
If the css file is in the same folder as the page, just use href="real-estate.css" .

This question belongs in the ASP.NET forum. It has nothing to do with VB.NET, regardless of the language you used to write the code-behind.
You're using fully qualified paths to the style sheet. They will NOT work. You must use a path relative to the root of the website so you're able to deploy the ASP.NET app without worrying about directory names.
The format for a style sheet link tag is:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/folder/filename.css" />

There an error, in the build error task shown:
Could not copy temporary files to the output directory.
The file 'computerized grading system.exe' cannot be copied to the run directory. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
The file 'computerized grading system.pdb' cannot be copied to the run directory. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
What is the meaning of that???
I accidentally select the start without debugging in the debug menu. I dont know if it is related in the error.
What should i do????

You still have a copy of your .exe still running. You cannot rebuild while it is still running. You have to end the process.

and maybe it is still running because you started a couple of threads without setting
their IsBackGround property false (so now they all must terminate before your process
will exit).
