I think both of you are correct.
AJAX in the raw form can be used with just about any language. We have a legacy asp application that uses it.
However, using the Ajax toolkit available from ajax.asp.net, I am pretty sure it requires the .Net 2.0 framework.
I don't think you can use the Ajax from ajax.asp.net with .Net 1.1 as it would require 2 separate IIS application pools to run the application.

Hi all,
I have dropdownlist control on a usercontrol. if I choose an item from this dropdownlist, the "SelectedIndexChanged" event of ddl is fired.
But if set the selectedindex in code, this event is not fired.
at first cboTemp.SelectedIndex is 0 and I set it to
cboTemp.SelectedIndex = 2
why the SelectedIndexChanged event doesnt fire after I set the SelectedIndex of dll.
thanks in advance

It would not fire! if you want the event to be fired, once you set the selected index value then call the event
dropdownlist1_selectedindexchanged(this, e);

if I call the event explicitly, it gives me an error.
Name 'e' is not declared.

Are you calling the event explicitly inside another event or not?

I am sending my code example:
Private Sub SetCookieValue(ByRef cboTemp As DropDownList, ByVal strCookieName As String)
Dim iValIndex As Integer
iValIndex = cboTemp.Items.IndexOf(cboTemp.Items.FindByValue(GetCookie(strCookieName)))
If iValIndex > 0 Then cboTemp.SelectedIndex = iValIndex
End Sub
'in Form_load call function.
SetCookieValue(cboProdukte, "Support.StartCase.Produkt")
>> hier I am calling event. or it can be also in SetCookieValue function called.
Thanks

Sorry, i could not grasp your code however try this:
when you trying to call the event explicitly give this way - dropdownlist1_selectedindexchanged(this, eventargs e)

I think this code should be in vb.net like this but I still got an error.
cboProdukte.SelectedIndex = 2
call cboProdukte_SelectedIndexChanged(Me, EventArgs e)
Error:
'EventArgs' is a type and cannot be used as an expression.

try with none in place of "e".
It'll work!!

In place of
cboProdukte_SelectedIndexChanged(Me, EventArgs e)
try
cboProdukte_SelectedIndexChanged(Me, none)
It should work!!!

Hi
I was wondering if someone would be able to give me some advice on this problem
I have a table which displays my user details to the administrator, i have buttons at the end of each record which when i click on them I want it to be able to load that specfic users profile, i was wondering if there is anyway of grabbing possibly the username held in that record and passing it to my Profile page, so that I can use that to populate my textboxes and labels , with data from my database using a stored procedure
any help much appreciated

profilepage.aspx?username='username'
where 'username' should be replaced with the actual username (not quotes)
You can retrieve this value ont profilepage.aspx by :
Request["username"] (or Request("username") for visual basic)
|
|
|
|
|
you can use querystring or sessions
for querystring
string strParam="the value you want to pass";
string urlname=page_name.aspx?¶meter_name="+strParam;
do a response.redirect("urlname");
or Session["session_name"]="value to be passed";
in the profile page you can access that as Session["session_name"] or Request.Querystring["paarameter_name"].
Hope that helps!
