Hi, thanks a lot for your reply!
I never changed any code with the dropdownlist, and that's where I thought where the value was getting assigned to @Name. I just noticed that not all the code for the drop down list is getting displayed in my first post for some reason.
Here is the drop down list code.
<asp:DropDownList ID="myDropDownList" runat="server"
DataSourceID = "myFilteringDataSource"
DataValueField = "Name"
AutoPostBack = "True" DataTextField="Name"
/>

Hi,
I want you to check your command text, i.e. your select query.
In your select query after the and condition you are using the variable @name , how is the value getting substituted to that @name?
Dont you have to add this parameter to the command?

Thanks again for the reply.
Well this is actually sort of strange, but good at the same time I guess. I made of copy of that page when it was working and it was saved in a folder, so I forgot about it. Anyway, that page is working fine, but the strangest thing is that I carried over all the code, and even checked the settings, they all match. One works, and the other doesn't.
There is no value getting put into the @name on either page, the only time the actual phrase "@Name" is being used is in the selet query.
Should I just write some code to assign the currently selected item in the drop down list to the @Name instead of just wondering how one page works? Haha.
Thanks,
aqzman

What i would say first leave the form with its functionality working then start your research and try to pass the value.
But strange though!!!

Hai there..
I created one installer file, that'll check AJAX Extensions registry file and if it's not there it'll install Ajax Extensions amd if it's there it'll install my appliation.
Now wat is the problem is: it's checking correct and installing Ajax if it's not there, but it's not installng my application once it's finished. If already AJAX is installed means then only it's installing my application. But i want this two things to be installed in one setup. I'm using SearchFor and Launch Condition. Please help...

It will only work if you install PHP on IIS[^].
There are other simpler options available like the SeeSearchWords control[^].

I think both of you are correct.
AJAX in the raw form can be used with just about any language. We have a legacy asp application that uses it.
However, using the Ajax toolkit available from ajax.asp.net, I am pretty sure it requires the .Net 2.0 framework.
I don't think you can use the Ajax from ajax.asp.net with .Net 1.1 as it would require 2 separate IIS application pools to run the application.

Hi all,
I have dropdownlist control on a usercontrol. if I choose an item from this dropdownlist, the "SelectedIndexChanged" event of ddl is fired.
But if set the selectedindex in code, this event is not fired.
at first cboTemp.SelectedIndex is 0 and I set it to
cboTemp.SelectedIndex = 2
why the SelectedIndexChanged event doesnt fire after I set the SelectedIndex of dll.
thanks in advance
Togi
