Hi Navaneeth,
In the final answer what you have suggest is to add the list box. But there also we are adding the file one by one to the list box. we are not able to add more than one file at a stretch (i.e at one click) to the list box.
Thats why I am asking is there any other web user control, where you can browse more than one file at a single click. Could you please help me out.
Thanks and Regards,
Hariharan C

Do you want to hide a dropdownlist when it has items listed in it?
If yes,
if(dropdownlist1.items.count>0)
dropdownlist1.visible=false
gauthee

thnx anyway .....
i tried it another way...
dropdownlist1.Visible=false;
but that time i encountered a javascript error..saying that
Error : Object required ;
i am not getting wat it means...

Can you show us the Javascript that you wrote?
sajan ss wrote: Error : Object required ;
The invisible control doesn't show in HTML. So, any javascript code (eg: document.getElementById('dropdown'); ) which is trying to grap the id of invisible control will throw this error.

i made it invisible in aspx.cs file only...
but the javascript written is not concerned for this, that was for a gridview....
but still the error occurs...
anyway i wil attach the javascript...
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
var mygridSelectedColor;
function setMouseOverColor(element)
{
mygridSelectedColor = element.style.backgroundColor;
element.style.backgroundColor='lightblue';
element.style.cursor='hand';
}
function setMouseOutColor(element)
{
element.style.backgroundColor=mygridSelectedColor;
element.style.textDecoration='none';
}
function ValidateForm()
{
var user_date=document.form1.txteffdate
if (isDate(user_date.value)==false)
{
return false
}
return true
}
</script>

I wonder why you want this..
1. check the count and make it invisible
OR
2. Set the visible property of dropdown list to False after populating with data.

A master page provides a template for other pages, with shared layout and functionality. The master page defines placeholders for the content, which can be overridden by content pages. The output result is a combination of the master page and the content page.
When users request the content page, ASP.NET merges the pages to produce output that combines the layout of the master page with the content of the content page.
The @ Master directive defines it as a master page.
The master page contains a placeholder tag <asp:contentplaceholder> for individual content.
The content page contains a content tag <asp:content> with a reference to the master page (ContentPlaceHolderId="CPH1").

I saw one photo gallery like that in dotphoto.com. They allow the users to drag and drop the images from harddrive to their upload control.
They are using flash to get this feature. but one thing is that the user has to add their site in trusted zone.
Maybe. you can try with flash too.. I don't see any other alternative way to achieve this goal.

Hi there,
I'm coding in ASP.net 2.0 and I've followed a couple examples to attempt to filter a GridView on my page using a DropDown box. I.e., List of states in the drop down menu; when California is selected the list of data in the GridView should filter to only include rows with California. All examples I've seen say that the code below should work but my GridView disappears from the page completely when I enter the WHERE clause that's linked to the dropdown menu named ddItemType.
I've tryed using the syntax '[ITEM_TYPE] =@ddItemType' and '[ITEM_TYPE] =?'
but these both make the GridView disappear.
Can anyone help me???
Thanks!
