and assigning the dataset values to the corresponding textboxes and dropdownlists .
for ordinary dropdownlists, the values are populating correctly in their indexes using this code as show below
dropdownlist.SelectedIndex = dropdownlist.Items.IndexOf(dropdownlist.Items.FindByText(dataset.Tables[0].Rows[0]["column1"].ToString()));

Hi there guys.
I have a page designed in HTML(Dreamweaver) and another in VB.NET(aspx).I have a link from the aspx page to the HTML page.I included the HTML solution into the aspx folder jus so the solution can see it.The problem is, when I run and click on the link.I get this message:
The HTTP verb POST used to access path '/Final Airliquide TelephoneList/Home Page/HomePage.htm' is not allowed.
I have tried to look at my C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\WUDF but my WUDF is empty so I cant change anything in there.I tried looking for my Global.aspx but cant find it.What could be the problem??
Thanx in advance guys

I don't HTML pages have any serverside filters to process inputs from the server. And when you POST input from browser to server, the normal HTTP mechanism is that the page specified in FORM action recieves the input and does some processing. There is a related discussion thread on this problem here: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/30269451/http-verb-post-used-not-a.aspx[^]

What do you want to change in the log? Also, log files are periodically updated. When you do a IISRESET, you can force flushing of entries and see the log file updated.

One of the forums I visited adviced that I change the settings in the logfiles.But mine were empty.Its jus that everyone who received this message was working on a different problem.We are nt doing similar things.But this message keeps showing up and in my instance I don knw what could be the problem.My links should jus connect straight to the HTML pages without any problem but gives me this errors instead.

Please post this in the ASP.net forum if you want more ASP.net savvy people to look at your problem.

I have a web form that once submitted can take a while before the confirmation page occurs. So I need to be able to stop the user from clicking on any part of the form once submit has been pressed(before the confirmation appears). I have tried using javascript:
document.getElementById('<%= Button1.ClientID %>').disabled = true;
This does disable the button but then the code behind the button does run. I have a simerlar problem when i disable elements of the form, they cannot be used in the code behind the button because once disabled they are not sent back to the server.
How can I disable the form and still get the processing of the form to work?

When you disable a form element that does not get submitted. I would say that you can hide the form with some progressbar.

I have an img tag:
<img src="../about.png" name="progressImage" alt="LoadingImg"/>
and when a button is pressed, as well as other things, i want to change the image source. At the momnet i have the following line:
document.progressImage.scr = "../logo.png";
this seems to do nothing. Im sure this is a simple idea but i cannot see whats wrong.
Any Ideas?
|
|
|
|
|
<img src="../about.png" id="progressImage" alt="LoadingImg"/>
(changed name to id there)
and javascript :
<br />
var imageObject;<br />
imageObject = document.getElementById('progressImage');<br />
if (imageObject != null)<br />
imageObject.src = '../logo.png';<br />
hope that works...

Thanks this partially works.
The old image dissapears but the new image cant be seen. However it is there, if i right click where the picture should be and select show picture is appears.
Any ideas?

Erhm.... that's damn strange!! Maybe it's a new feature... haven't got a clue.. are the images large so it takes a long time to load or something??
You have no OnLoad event going on which switches the visibility or something??

Instead of src , you have spelt it as scr .

Hi Guys,
This is related to my previous question about not using the imagemap control in asp.net. Still I am using the usemap tag from html.
I have a question, can we possibly pass a value of a certain value from the default.aspx to default.aspx.vb?
Please see my code below. I just wanted to pass the value of stmp into the variable xTmp.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Default.aspx file:
<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.vb" Inherits="_Default" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
<script language="vbscript" type="text/vbscript">
<!--
sub showpart(stmp)
xtmp = CStr(stmp)
end sub
// -->
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server" />
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
<img src="beaumontpic1.jpg" width="463" height="476" border="0" alt="" usemap="#id203_480_Map" id="IMG1" language="vbscript"/>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" />
<div>
</div>
<map name="id203_480_Map">
<area shape="rect" alt="" coords="398,270,441,292" href="" onclick="showpart(300)"/>
<area shape="rect" alt="" coords="398,147,433,169" href="" onclick="showpart(200)"/>
<area shape="rect" alt="" coords="398,26,455,57" href="" onclick="showpart(100)"/>
</map>
</form>
</body>
</html>

Put it in a hidden field and on postback you can use Request.Form or Request.Params to recieve them right?

So we have a client that wants to pop-up our site (.net site) from their site, and have our site keep their session alive. Our site and theirs are not hosted within the same domain.
Suggestions on the cleanest way(s) to go about this?

Scott Seeber wrote: Our site and theirs are not hosted within the same domain.
I don't think that you can share Session in between two different domain. If session is not storing any objects, then you can pass session values from one domain to other using querystring. In the second page you need to extract querystring value and create another session with this value. For more security, you can encrypt query string values.
