Yeah, as far as I can tell there are three main problems in the world:
- we have too many keen interests;
- there are a huge number of articles around;
- there are way too many people not searching but just asking.

That's okay to an extent, but it can make things not very interesting sometimes.

Yes, and it does pose as a challenge weeding out the good from the bad. A favorite phrase from my Master's Thesis chairman, YAGNI (You Ain't Aren't Gonna Need It).

Yes, search first, can't find it, then ask

Exactly, But the Peoples should think of it and use it.
Luc Pattyn wrote: there are a huge number of articles around;
Well Said, Because of the Pressure they are not able to read those articles.
Luc Pattyn wrote: there are way too many people not searching but just asking.
Exactly said Luc, before posting the code the guys should search it in google and after wards he could not find this means we can help you.
there are lot of peoples asking how to do without knowing the simple concepts.
That depends upon on his own interest only.
then only the programmer can sine in his life.

The best help I can give you (and the only help at this point) is to go some research on Google for what you're looking for, then start writing the application, then (and only then) if you run into problems come back here, give a description of the problem (along with the code thats causing the problem) then maybe someone will help you. To come here and say something like "help me with the codes" is going to get you ignored, we aren't here to do your work/homework assignments for you.

Before posting your query here you must get it from our Best Friend what for you are looking.
And here we are to help you if you got any problem in your application.

There are two possibilities here
1 - you're the best they could find to impliment such a system in a third world country
2 - this is your homework
I'm betting on #2. We don't provide full solutions, homework or otherwise. We look at people's code, and provide advice. Right now, we don't even know exactly what your assignment requires, and even if we did, we would not do it for you, when you've obviously done nothing yourself.
Write some code, come back and ask us when you're stuck on something more fine grained than the whole project.

I would have to say. In a database course our project years ago was a driving school database/app. It was okay, quickly learned how to normalize databases :->

Nope, I don't have the time and you don't have the money to pay me.

Start by doing requirements gathering, draw fancy-schmancy UML diagrams, etc. Then, starting coding away

VB6 is a dead language. I would recommend finding a course that teaches .NET languages instead.

Why? VB6 is terrible. Use C# or C++, it is better for your resume and professional development

What's more important is that VB6 is a dead language. I don't care if people use VB.NET, much as I hate it, it suits some people. But, VB6 support is long over, I doubt there are any new projects starting in VB6, aside from small projects where this is done entirely because of limitations in the people available to do it.

I am sending emails through Outlook 2003. The problem I'm having is that the message goes into the outbox, but if the user's outlook isn't open, the message just stays in the outbox. Can I some how siently start outlook, and 'send/receive' all?
Dim OutlookApplication As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application
Dim OutLookMailItem As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.MailItem
Dim imailitem As Int32 = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlItemType.olMailItem
OutLookMailItem = CType(OutlookApplication.CreateItem(imailitem), Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.MailItem)
'Set To and Subject of the email.
OutLookMailItem.Subject = cSubject
OutLookMailItem.Attachments.Add(Me.emailDirPath + fname + cExtension)
'Display MailItem and let them fill in the rest!
'
' make it modal
'
Me.Cursor = Cursors.Default
OutLookMailItem.Display(True)

I found the answer:
Dim oApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._Application = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application
Dim oNS As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._NameSpace = oApp.GetNamespace("mapi")
Dim oSyncs As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.SyncObjects
Dim oSync As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.SyncObject
Try
' Reference SyncObjects.
oSyncs = oNS.SyncObjects
oSync = oSyncs.Item("All Accounts")
' Send and receive.
oSync.Start()
Catch ex As Exception
MessageBox.Show("oSync Error: " + ex.Message, "Error Sending Email From Outlook")
End Try
' Clean up.
oSync = Nothing
oSyncs = Nothing
oNS = Nothing
oApp = Nothing

Never heard of it. It's also VERY unlikely you'll find anyone here who has used the library you're talking about. You'd be better off looking for a support board dedicated to the library in question.

Hi,
I'm trying to change the color depth of the user's monitor upon my app starting. I can't seem to find anything on the subject. I'm coding in 1.1 VB.Net framework. Any help would be great.
Thanks

First, your app, since it's running on a shared system with other applications, should NEVER change system-wide settings like this.
Second, why do you want to do this?
