Hi,

I am using ASP.NET 1.1 and want to know if the regular expression validator control works in Firefox. I added such a control and it still made a trip to the server. How do I get this control to work in 1.1?

The problem you've got is that Firefox is treated as a down-level browser in 1.1. What you need to do is add the following into your web.config file.

Folder Structure for Album

I need to implement an album module to my new web site. Can somebody explain to me, the best practices in implementing a Web Photo Album in .NET. I would like to know about, how to maintain the folder for the albums etc. I know that there is a practise of creating folder sfrom a - z and then creating sub folders in these folders based on the first alphabet in the user name. If somebody has done a similar kind of thing, can you explain how you implemented this.

I would recommend storing the images in the DB itself, then maintaining structures and such becomes much easier. It will also allow you to reorganize the structure, add, delete etc. much easier.

If you interested, there is a starter kit you can download that has much of this functionality built in. You can DL from the asp.net site. Its the personal web site kit (or something like that).

It would be easy to modify that piece of the kit to suit your needs. If you don't want to do that, there are umteen articles on the web on how to add and retrieve images from a DB.

Hi in my grid i am binding some of the records...,
In that one of the boundcolumn field some the values are null(not show anything)...,
So i like to count how many cells are like that...,
So i used this code:
Dim count As Integer = 0
For Each MainGRD As DataGridItem In Me.dgrdmain1.Items
If (MainGRD.Cells(0).Text) <> "" Then
count = count + 1

Next
lblNoofDays.Text = "No Of Days" & ":" & count
But its counting and show all the values...,
How to solve the prbs plz any one help me,

No idea

, May be because of some whitespace. Try trimming the text before comparison

I am using GridView control which has checkbox column (itemtemplate) and a dropdown column (itemtemplate). Also, I've set the edit/update property to OFF-as I don't want to update the database one row at a time. (ie. don't want many calls to the database--also its not very user friendly).

I have a submit button on click of which I read the values of the gridview contruct a string and pass it to the database. However, how do i deal with paging? As i move from page to page how would i keep track of what has been updated on each page?

use disconnection architechure and want to keep track of every page.

What I suggest is, instead of using disconnected architecture you need to update in DB each row. If you are using disconnected architecture also, your page needs a postback to update values to datatable. To keep datatable when page changes you need to store it on some session variables. This is not a good practice since you have lot of data available on datatable. So better option will be updating DB and binding each time.

Or you can update page by page. This will be more user friendly I think. When page changes update all changes made on the current page to database and rebind the gridview.

Hi friends

I have one page in admin side called view_marketupdate.aspx.

In this page i have dynamically generated many tables with many records from database and also bind every each table's record graph.

Now I want to generate .html or .txt file for this page and want to use this file in front side to display same layout of page.

Not all page but only all tables and their graph which all are placed in div tag

I assume that you need a html file which looks exactly same like your admin page ? If so you can make use of WebClient class. This class is used to send request to webpages and returns byte array contains the processed HTML code of the requested website. You need to write it to a html file. Or alternatively you can use DownlodFile() method of WebClient class.

Has anyone had any experience with setting up Impersonation and Constrained Delegation for an ASP.Net WebApp thats accessing Index Server on a different server?

I've setup the WebApp so that it's working fine with Impersonation, and I've set the web server to be allowed to delegate to the Server that Index Server is running on. BUt it's still not working X(

Which version and edition of Outlook? Outlook that comes with office? Outlook Express? Outlook 2000? Outlook Express 6?

Intergrate into your application? You want Outlook to appear inside your app? YOu want to be able to read the mail from Outlook? You want your app to be able to display parts of Outlook?

I have an application in that, the broswer window popups up and should automatically closed after some selection is made in that window
like.....
If I checked a CheckBox then that value of the CheckBox i.e true should be entered into the DataBase, after that the window should atomatically closed.

I am successful in entering the check box value into the DataBase but I am unable to close the window.

How can I close the window.

where should I write the code.

Suggest me an example.

Hi guys.
Ive a problem with my links.I have a link from my Default.aspx page to a html(Dreamweaver) file that goes like this Page.Response.Redirect("C:\Documents and Settings\kagisho.mashiloane\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\Final Airliquide TelephoneList\Home Page\HomePage.html").

its not opening the page, and gives this error - Server Error in '/Final Airliquide TelephoneList' Application.

So, I also tried this - Page.Response.Redirect("HomePage.html") since I have the two files in da same folder but i still get this message.Ive tried configuring my IIS manager to allow dynamic pages but i cant see where the options is to change or add extensions so dynamic pages can display.
