At least the download link points back to your CodeProject article

It looks like a number of CodeProject articles hav been copied to that site. I'm sure if you email Chris about your's, he'll address it.

is this a new chinese ripoff site or an existing one? I know that at least one other'd been reported in the past.

You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer

I didn't actually get a chance to follow up with the previous one - his ISP removed him fairly promptly

I could feebly recall there was one more illegal CP mirror but the downloads were acting as leech for CP right?

1. Some source control system, so people can contribute to the source code of different tools/controls.
2. New formula to calculate the popularity of an article, depending on current rating system combined also with: the number of downloads of the source code, the number of views, the number of messages in the article's forum, the number of messages posted by the author in the article's forum.
3. Ask the authors to specify a license (maybe use a list of standard licenses: public domain, Creative Commons, GPL, BSD, Apache etc) for the source code published on the site.
If you can't explain something to a six year old, you really don't understand it yourself. (Albert Einstein)

Prior to logging in the Lounge displayed the following:
Attention: You must confirm your email address before you can post to this forum.
Note: You must Sign in to post to this message board.
I'm pretty sure the 'Attention' message doesn't make sense, since I wasn't logged in in the first place. I think it would be better to only display the message when appropriate.

Since .NET 3.0 isn't specific to any language, and is a very divergent technology from Winforms, do you have any plans to add a forum for .NET 3.0 technologies?
I seem to recall seeing a link to a WPF forum here but there's not one listed in the forums list.. if there's already an appropriate forum, point the way, I just don't see one.

A 1 vote? What the hell, if there's already such a forum just say it.
I'll uni-vote you, you uni-voter, you.

Hi,
I am positive I have been a member here on codeproject since 2000 or 2001, I cant remember which year. I have two accounts (One for home and another for work) here on codeproject.
My question is: I have noticed that my join date does not seem to be correct (At least by my memory) How can I fix that?
Thanks,
-David Delaune

AFAIK you can't ... it'd be a bit pointless to let memebers edit stuff like that.
IIRC the dates all got reset at one point and so that is why it's changed.

Your join date is set by when your account is created and isn't modified (or modifiable)

It really doesn't matter much... but I am positive my join date was modified at some point on my other account. I think it was years ago when I heard you had to rebuild the database or something.
But I am not really concerned about it, just thought I'd ask.

A Hall Of Fame 'read only' forum where the big guns can copy posts to for prosperity - there have been some absolutely classic posts recently, both 'real' programming ones, and the real classic ones from the lounge.
"More functions should disregard input values and just return 12. It would make life easier." - comment posted on WTF
