Actually there is an issue with the firefox...
Firefox accepts a cookie from a website containing the session id. Then if that site is opened again in a different window it accepts a different cookie when the user tries to log on. If i guess correctly it overwrites the previous one and then you can act as different user altogether( The one who has signed in at a later stage)
So, this is to be stopped.

How are you opening the second Firefox window? Are you actually creating a whole new process? If you look in Window's taskmanager's Processes tab is a new process being created? It seems that the session is tied to the application's process. The reason I ask this is because IE 6 (yes I said 6) will also show this problem of shared session if you open a new IE window using the CTRL+N shortcut. This is because IE is opening a new window but it is still in the same process.
Darn, I should have read a couple more posts before posting. Guffa is correct.

That's because you can't have two instances of Firefox running. When you try to start another instance, it will just open another window in the first instance.
You can look in the process list in Task Manager, and you will see that there is only one Firefox process.

Why do you need two users on the same machine. Will this be a regular occurance in production?

If you need separate windows to be separate identities, you can't use sessions or cookies to identify them. The identification has to follow the page, and be sent back and forth between the browser and the server for every request.
You can for example put an id in a hidden field in the form. That way the id goes into the page, and back to the server at postback.

My computer is connected to internet throw a DSL cable modem. ipconfig command says that the ip address is 192.168.1.64. I think this is the IP of lan card. "Network connection's" settings is as "Obtain an IP address automatically". By the way, ipconfig also says the "Default Gateway" is 192.168.1.1. This is the IP address of my modem. When I type is address in IE, the modem settings page is opened. That settings page says the IP is 88.213.51.58. I typed this on IE, It opened the modem settings page again. I tried the "ipaddress.com", it says my IP is 212.107.116.248. Each sources showing different IP. How can I find the correct one?

And the best one is that he posted the .NET question in a C++/MFC forum

Hi there,
definately this will give you the error.
The solution is to take field as datetime type, or if u dont want to take datetime type than u should have to convert the datetime value coming from source to your procedure to string.
also you can convert the datetime to string through function given below.
convert(varchar,column name,format code);
search more on this function u get result.
my sugestions:
Convert the datetime to string while tghe value is passing to stored procedure,
or tell me the actual requiremebnt so i can help u.

Hi all,
I am displaying a flash file on home page of our site which is developed in asp.net 2.0.
Is there any way to read key values in web.config from flash file.?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
To my knowledge, no there is no way to access the web.config file from outside .NET code, but I could be wrong, that's why I suggest to wait for a second opinion.
What I can suggest also is that you place what you need in another XML file that could be easily read by the flash application.

I don't feel this as a problem. Browsers don't have any problem to read bulk HTML code, more over it's a good practice to use TR and TD's instead of using styles to align them.

Do you want to center vertically or horizontally? or did I completely misunderstand?

Hi,
Language: Visual Studio 2.0, ASP.Net, C#
Case:
1) Datagrid Bound columns generated at runtime and populated from the dataset.
2) Datagrid contains a select button. When the select button is pressed a new report is generated.
Problem: During the first page_load grid is populated properly but when it is postback Datagrids items and cells are not visible in the select buttons itemcommand method.
I know ASP.NET 2.0 uses partial classes, but
how the old InitializeComponent method
can be eliminate from the code-behind class and partial
class be used in its place?
A quick reply will be really helpful.
Please feel free to revert in case of any clarification.
Thanks!
