Hi,
I am developing application using outlook 2007 object model.I have one message which has 138 attachments. Amongs them I can save 122 Attachments physically, but 16 attachments can't save. All 138 attachments have file extension ".gif". I get an error like this
"Cannot save the attachment. Cannot create file: clr.gif. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder."
Can any one tell me what is the actual problem?. I only want to know why this error comes only for few messages.
Thanks,
Pavan

If it is suggesting you change the permissions, that implies that access is denied.
So, does the context that you are saving the files under have sufficient permissions to write to the location(s) you are saving the files? If those 18 are being written to a different location, this is a likely cause.
Could any files already exist in that location? Files with the same names as the ones you are trying to save, that are either differently permissioned or are set as read-only?
Do those 18 files have the same names as others that are attached? Outlook will let you attach identical files multiple times, but you will not be able to save those files to the same location without needing to overwrite existing files.

All 138 files are stored at same location. These files have same names in message but I am saving all those files with different names.

Easiest way is to run the operation from within the database. SQL server 2005 will let you execute scheduled jobs against the database - look under SQL Server Agent -> Jobs in the SQL Server Management Studio.

In the Job properties (right click "Jobs", select "New Job", there is a list of items on the left hand side. One of those is "Steps". Clicking on that will allow you to enter a list of steps that you want your job to run. Any of those steps can be a T-SQL update query.

If you want to hold globaly any object (value) in web application then you can use Application variable in web application.

You can store any thing in Application variable. I think you don't have much information about Application in web application.
For getting more information about Application find in google.

i under stand ur problem ,
the best way to use the variable u need on all most all the forms is:
make static varible in on class and use where ever u need to want to use it value or set its value as uer requirement.
Note define that as public in class.

public static class MyGlobalVariables
{
public static int someVariable;
}
NOTE: This can be an indication of poor design - You should not be thinking in terms of global variables.
What you need to do is to think of what the purpose of the variable is and find out which class it should belong to. Put it there and have the class control access to it via a property.

Great.
Colin Angus Mackay wrote: have the class control access to it via a property.
I heard writing properties inside class as a bad habit ? What do you say ?
|

Who told you that? Properties are not a bad habit at all - they allow you to hide the implementation of setting and retrieving values.
To a certain extent, properties are just syntactic sugar hiding the fact that these are internally functions called set_... and get_....
Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

Thanks, But I read some where like exposing class variables through properties is a bad habit.. Any way I always used to do that, just seen Colin's code and got doubt again...
