Today I deleted one of my message (thread start) as it was a repost, and I wasn't asked about any reason wouldn't be that suitable, if CP asks for a reason why am I deleting the message, and that reason can be seen on that deleted message.

You can email a request to submit (at) codeproject.com and an Editorial Team should consider your request for review.

You click the "Delete" button at the top right of the article.

But currently only 'Article HTML' is supported. Isn't it? Modifications of the article, I guess, as following from another post should be routed via an editorial. Hence I just thought I would suggest submit (at) codeproject.com. I am really surprised at a mysterious (1) vote for that.

If your article is still unedited then there is 'Delete' button but once the article is edited and moved to appropriate section there is "Get Article's HTML" button only

This is half-question, half-suggestion.
What tools and standards can be used for article authoring. To me, it was extremely tedious to have to format my article as HTML after having written it in Word.
Why can't I use standards like docbook or even Word 2007's XML format to submit my article? That would allow me author my article in any docbook editor or Word 2007 and not have to go through the tedium and error-prone translation process.
Thoughts?

Hi,
I use Visual Studio 7.1 to edit CP articles (starting of as HTML documents): it
can show it both in "Design" view and in "HTML" view.
I tried to do the same in Studio 8.0 C# Epress Edition, which I use for software
development, but failed to figure it out.
You could ask Word to create HTML but it would make a mess, and the CP editors
would not like that.
Luc Pattyn [Forum Guidelines] [My Articles]
this weeks tips:
- make Visual display line numbers: Tools/Options/TextEditor/...
- show exceptions with ToString() to see all information
- before you ask a question here, search CodeProject, then Google

If you've written it in word then just copy and paste it into the online editor. The editor will strip out the Word junk and (hopefully) leave you with a decent article. There is also a little "Word" icon you can click to strip out Word HTML.
The trick here is to make sure you use heading 1, heading 2 etc in word instead of excessive styles.

Sometimes (randomly) in the latest safari, the "Post Message" button reads "Set Options". However, if you click on it, it still posts the message.

This is getting seriously crazy lately. I've seen endless posts on what bug tracking software people recommend, what anti virus they recommend and on and on and on. We need a wiki style area where we can all make comments on what software or hardware or brand of chili sauce we use and a nice easy url to point people at it.
The lounge and other boards are starting to look like FAQ factories.

It's going to happen. We just need to get the new release out the door then we can move on to important stuff like this.

How soon can we expect the new rewritten site? I am just curious.

Hello,
I wanted to suggest to add sorting capabilities to the 'My Bookmark' pages.. especially useful would be sorting by 'date added'. For me, I have so many bookmarks and I usually add an article while on the move or when I don't have time to read the whole thing.. but, without a sorting by date finding the latest articles I added is a nightmare..
Other filtering/sorting criteria would be useful too however.. even a custom grouping feature, replacing the default code project categories.
In case these features are there already and I didn't see them for some reason, sorry, and can someone tell me where they are?

Perhaps for users with really long list of bookmarks, this should be a pretty good feature for them to manage the same.

When a particular link like First and Next are being clicked in Lounge, we get this type of URL:
http://www.codeproject.com/lounge.asp?fr=176<big>&forumid=1159</big>
I feel the item in Bold and Red are not required if the URI is lounge.asp. Only if it is generic forums.asp then, we have to pass the forumid.

True Shog. Here is one sample URL with loads of querystrings:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/forums.asp?msg=2181077 &forumid=12076&XtraIDs=12076 &searchkw=C%23&sd=16+May+2007 &ed=14+Aug+2007&stype=1#xx2181077xx I have alternated between CODE and BIG tags for better understanding.
Actually in the URL sample I specified, the item that highlights red and emboldened is not required. Even when I remove that the page loads. Isn't it?
