No, I don't think so. I think the right approach here is to use AJAX to send down the path to the image, and then use javascript to set the properties of an IMG tag on the page.

it's ok what you say but i want the image to be dynamicaly generated based on user inputs so ... if i generate the picture and save it on disk and then send the link to the client to retrieve it i will have hundrads of useless generated pictures on the server ??
my ideea was to dynamicaly generate the picture and send it to the user (the actual data) ???
can i do that ?
thanks

If I understand what you are doing, problem is that you can't "write" picture into page. Pictures are NOT part of the page. What you need to do is generate your .jpg file on server, and using ajax set the image source to something like
<img src="givemepicture.aspx?picture" />
And givemepicture.aspx will write your image (probably generated using parameters passed in url) into its response. I don't know if the browser will automaticaly reload image after you change it's src with javascript.

In my site I have used ajax technology . What I want is to prevent the user from doing anything on the page while the data is being fetched from the server using ajax. I don't want the user to be able to click a link , etc . Is it possible to do it in one place . Any Idea ??

while processing, you should display one overlay image on the screen..
You can check the technique which is used in open source *box[^]

I start using the TreeView web control. I feel the default spacing between leaf nodes is quite big. I want to reduce the spacing so that I can fit more nodes. Is there a way to control the spacing(reduce to the min., rather than increase) ?
I have tried setting all "NodeSpacing" and "VerticalPadding" to 0px. The spacing is still too big for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hello. Here is my situation. I'm building a client asp.net application that will reside on our DMZ. I have a web service (called "ServiceBus") that acts as a single access point through a single port to our data center.
The ServiceBus has methods that do several tasks such as fetching data, running SSRS reports, streaming documents, etc. Everything works fine when testing my client app from within the domain but from the DMZ I get authorization errors (see subject line).
The following line of code will get me to the HelloWorld method but any other method that fetches anything from another server fails with permission errors:
serviceproxy.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
So it seems that I need to send domain user credentials which I try below.
I have IIS security set to Digest. The code below was suggested on this post:
http://forums.asp.net/p/1050587/1862246.aspx#1862246
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load<br />
Dim serviceproxy As New WSBus.ServicesBusWebService()<br />
Dim userCredential As NetworkCredential = New NetworkCredential("username", "password", "domain")<br />
Dim credentials As CredentialCache = New CredentialCache()<br />
credentials.Add(New Uri(serviceproxy.Url), "Digest", userCredential)<br />
serviceproxy.Credentials = credentials<br />
serviceproxy.PreAuthenticate = True<br />
<br />
Dim response = serviceproxy.HelloWorld() 'BREAKS HERE<br />
lblMessage.Text = response<br />
End Sub
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by "validate login form"??
Validating the empty inputs part or validating the user name and password??

I would say .. "Don't do that! man" it is just wasting time and money..
There are a lot of people who has already tried to achieve this but there are always some sorts of hecks for copying images.
Let me tell you some attempts that people tried to protect their images of being copied
#1. Disabling right-click.
Everybody knows this is useless.. Don't forget "Save as" or "Firebug"
#2. Showing the transparent images over the actual image.
It can trick the normal user but not for advanced user. There are very powerful tool (eg: Firebug) that can manipulate the HTML DOM in very easy way.
#3. Using third-party tool for protecting images.
If you google a lit bit, you will see a lot of ads mentioning that they can protect yours images (even HTML code). I have tried them some time back. Those tools are NOT good enough.
#4. Embedded Object(Flash or ActiveX)
Using flash might be the best way (so far) for image protection. But one thing, there are some tools or firefox extension (eg: Download Helper ) that can easily download .flv (flash) file. so, peopele might not able to copy the image but they can still copy the *.flv file.
So, don't do that.. man... Of course, this is my own opinion. so, you may wanna listen what other people say.

Hello,
I have a download functionality in my web application. I let users to select wav files then I zip it and finally provided a download functionality. For this I placed all the wav files in one of the folder under "App_Data" folder in my solution. Their is again a "Download" folder under "App_Data" and I use it for temporarily storing zipped files.After download is over this zip file under "Download" folder is deleted automatically. Everything is working fine on my local machine. But when I deployed this Application on server and tried to download files I am receiving error "Access to the path 'MyServerpath\Applicationname\App_Data\Downloads\zipfilename.zip' is denied.
I am not using any particular accounts for user to access this functionality and is not having any groups also.
Here is my code: where i am getting error:(having //Error tag)
string filepath = (Server.MapPath("./App_Data/Downloads/") + zippedfile);
//Error System.IO.FileStream fs = new System.IO.FileStream(filepath, System.IO.FileMode.Open);
///set the content type
//Response.ContentType = "application/zip";
///set Content-Disposition
Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + zippedfile);
Need urgent Help.

Ask the server admin people (your ISP support?) to grant you WRITE access on this folder.

Its a simple 3 cell table layout:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"><br />
<html style="height: 100%;"><br />
<head><br />
</head><br />
<body style="height: 100%; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;"><br />
<table height="100%" style="width: 100%; border: 5px solid #000000;"><br />
<tr><br />
<td colspan="2" width="100%"><br />
<div style="height: 60px;"><br />
top</div></td></tr><br />
<tr><br />
<td height="100%" style="border: 1px solid red;"><br />
<div style="width:250px;"><br />
left</div></td><br />
<td width="100%"><br />
cont</td></tr><br />
</table><br />
</body><br />
</html><br />
In firefox it shows up just as i wanted, but when i open it in IE7 the table is actually bigger than window size and the vertical scroll bar apears. When i resize window it sometimes shows correct, but most of the time not.
what am i doing wrong here?

You are not doing anything wrong. The issue here is how the html element is interpreted by the brwosers. The two browsers implement it in different ways. So you cannot fix the issue without JavaScript. Here is a possible solution:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>Test</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function resizeProperly() {
if (window.innerHeight) {
document.body.style.width =
window.innerWidth + "px";
document.body.style.height =
window.innerHeight + "px";
} else {
document.body.style.width =
document.documentElement.offsetWidth + "px";
document.body.style.height =
document.documentElement.offsetHeight + "px";
}
}
window.onresize = window.onload = resizeProperly;
</script>
</head>
<body style="height: 100%;margin:0;padding:0">
<table style="height:100%;width: 100%; border: 5px solid #000000;">
<tr>
<td colspan="2" style="width:100%">
top</td></tr>
<tr>
<td style="width:100%">
left</td>
<td style="width:100%">
cont</td></tr>
</table>
</body>
</html><pre>
