Hi all,
I m executing my project in ie6. some times i use to execute my project in ie7
Here my problem is:
i m getting images well and good when i run it on the ie6 (my images are stored in my project in one folder) and in ie7 i m not able to get the images on my aspx page even though if the images are there on my image folder.But some times the images will disply on ie7.
plz any one can help..

try to check wether ur img comes in run time or not so u should use alt property in ur code for ex
ur img name is log.gif means

I have a problem, i hope that you help me to find the solutions:
I have a shopping cart to buy wines(assume url is www.winery.com). I allow user to register to create him store on my site to buy and introduce wines. when user registered successfully, he will open him site using url: www.winery.com/<registeredname>.
root url: www.winery.com
user1: www.winery.com/user1
user2: www.winery.com/user2
....
How can you help me?

very easily u can do it using System.IO, directory.Create("complete_path")
you must use MapPath to find the base path then append <registeredname> then call Directory.Create method

thank saifigr8, you mean after user registered, i must copy some template to folder has just created by user, because if i do not copy template to that folder, when user clicked url such as: www.winery.com/user1 the website will show.
Is that right?

Hello Guys,
I need your help desprately! I have this DetailsView that has a DropDownList (as templated field). The DropDownList raises a postback event (onSelectedIndexChanged) and its handler performs a conditional operation that changes the HeaderText in one of the DetailView's fields.
I wrote the code, nothing special, then when I tested it worked only half the time! Sometimes the postback ocures but nothing changes on the DetailsView and the new value of the DropDownList does not show up. Can someone explain to me why this is happening??

When I tried to deploy web service MSI on development server, got the following error.
"The specified path http://sample/wstest is unavailable. The internet information server might not be running or the path exists and is redirected to another machine. please check the status of this virtual directory in the internet services manager"
But I could deploy other MSIs on the same web server.
Appreciate help on this.

We recently had the same error installing an msi for a web.
"The specified path '' is unavailable. The Internet Information Server
might not be running or the path exists and is redirected to another
machine. Please check the status of this virtual directory in the
Internet Services Manager."
The error happened during the same WEBCA_EvaluateURLsMB action.
In the log it was specified
TARGETURL = http://SERVER2003/WebOPAC.
On the time of the installation the server (SERVER2003) was
disconnected from network and IIS wasn't able to resolve SERVER2003
name(even it is the local name of the server) to IP address.
After connecting to network we were able to install successfully.

Hi,
I'm new to .net membership, roles, and profile stuff but i'm trying to create an administrator web page for my application. I've managed to list users and change roles etc but i'm having problems listing the profile information for users other than the current user. Does anybody know how i do this? I'm trying to give each user a department string which i can set as adminstrator but as of yet i've not found out how i can access profile information for any user other than me (as i'm the one logged on). 
For example i'm logged in as administrator and i want to change the profile information for a user called bob.
C# examples would help a lot

i am trying to implement Profile on my web app so that it is possible to have personalization in it. I learned that in order to make use of the Profile class, i will need to use the login controls provided in asp.net in order to secure the authenticated user in th HTTPContext.current so that the userprofile called when using Profile represents the logged in user.
I already have my own authentication implemented and i hope not to change it. Is there any way i can retrieve a profile, and set it as the current profile without letter ASP setting it automatically in HTTPContext.current?

I want to make gridView to be autoupdated so any change happend in DB
the gridView records Will be changed without user press the refresh....
Iam thinking to put the Gridview in update panel(Ajax 1.0) and make timer every 15 seconds will be autorefresh the datasource....
any other idea or any topics can be heplp....

If you want partial update then ASP.NET Ajax Update Panel and Ajax Timer are the best choice (in my opinion ).
other way might be auto-refreshing the whole page by using meta tag. actually, it's very old way.. so, I think the way you are using is good.

Hi All,
I am creating dynamic row when the user wants to add more info into the grid view.
I have set my last column in the grid view with Update, Cancel button.
I have added click event to the button. But still it is not hitting the click event method.
I am new bee for ASP.NET. Tell me If i have done something wrong.

I don't think that click event of button within GridView will be invoked. maybe. you should set the commandname for that button. and if you click that button, the itemcommand event of GridView will be fired. get the commandname to know which button you clicked if you have more than one button..
Normally, you should create Template Column in GridView. Put the button in the template column of GridView. then, you have to set the CommandName (let's say "mycmd") in button. If you click this button, the itemcommand event of GridView will be fired. then, check the command name to know which button has been clicked.

Hello everybody...
In my Grid View I have 3 parameters:
1- IPAddressID (primary key) int not mull (cannot be updated (auto generated)).
2- OrgCode int not null (a dropdownlist that is taken from another table).
3- IPAddress varchar(50) not null (textbox).
and I am getting this error when trying to update:
ObjectDataSource 'ODSIPAddress' could not find a non-generic method 'UpdateQuery' that has parameters: OrgCode, IPAddress, original_IPAddressID, Original_OrgCode, Original_IPAddress.
Here is the query that I am using for updating in the dataobject:
UPDATE DHS_IPAddress
SET OrgCode = @OrgCode, IPAddress = @IPAddress
WHERE (IPAddressID = @Original_IPAddressID) AND (OrgCode = @Original_OrgCode) AND (IPAddress = @Original
What should I do to solve this problem.
I realy wish to get a clear answer.

Since you are using an object datasource it is expecting that your update method will have parameters for all the editable fields in your gridview row. You need to create an update method and point to it in your objectdatasource. The signature of that method must match what the objectdatasource expects or it won't work. Inside that method take the three fields and call your update method.

on a site I'm writing i use a TextBox and a Button for some search functionality..in the Button's onClick event i assigned a method :

all it does is open SearchResluts page in iContent iframe.. above the button and textbox there is a treeview and when i click the button it does what it should and changes font-size in the treeview..
i saw it somewhere before that after postback some control's font-size is changed (for larger one)..
does anyone have any idea why this happens and maybe knows a workaround?

You should use RegisterClientScriptBlock instead. When you do a Response.Write the code gets written on top of the page and that affects the font sizes. When you use RegisterClientScriptBlock, the code goes into the HTML tag.
This code is for Asp.Net 2.0, if your using Asp.Net 1.1 then you will have to use Page.RegisterClientScriptBlock
StringBuilder strScript = new StringBuilder();
strScript.Append("<script language="javascript">window.open('FileToOpen.aspx');</script>");
ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page.GetType(), "subscribescript", strScript.ToString());

When you use javascript using response.write,
the javascript is written before <doctype...> tag
That makes the browser ignore the
doctype, and the page is displayed in quirks mode.
The solution suggested above is the best way to do it.
There is also a workaround:
write response.write(<doctype.....>) code before response.write tag.
don't know how good this solution is, but it works perfectly well.
