It is Bad Memory Error. Which program is causing this?
A Google Search of that code brought me results from diversified programs like McAfee, LogiTech etc. Possibly a corrupt installation?

Hi everyone,
Is it possible to install two different windows on the same drive for example drive c of course I know its not recommend but I want to know if I install they on the drive can I use of them without any problem because they have a name WINDOWS on the root for their.

Yes, it is possible to install two copies of windows on the same C:\ drive, the second install will want its own seperate %WINDIR%, something like C:\Windows2\ maybe. Sometimes when you try to install two copies it will go wrong. Therefore you might want to try it a few times on some other computer before you try it on our main one (whith its stuff backed up).
Im not sure exactly if this is the answer you want though...

Even when dual boot is confusing, this would make more things haywire right? Virtual PC should clean all such troubles.

If the version(s) of Windows you're intending to use are NT based, NT, Win2000, XP, Vista then I'd consider putting each copy on it's own partition. That should work no problem and give you a boot menu to choose which one to boot from. Always install the older version first if they're not the same. The newer one will recognise the older one and fix the boot menu for you.
If the version(s) of Windows are 98, 95 or even earlier then side by side on a single partition is fine. If you were considering installing Windows ME DON'T!

I don't think recent versions of Windows will even let you do that. The two OSes would write over each other's DACLs and directories (like Program Files and Docs and Settings)

Surely you can on Win XP (using two different names of C:\Windows folder).
But I got in past some problems with C:/Document and settings and C:/Program Files because the two version was trying to write in the same place!
Strange things can happens if you install the same program (like Winzip) in both version on Win and disinstall it only one time ... the second version of windows will not find the program on C:\Program Files/Winzip

I recently got a VPC up and running with Solaris 10. The default GUI is AWFULL, think of a bad copy of Windows 2 with the worst colour scheme from Windows 3 by default. It also seems very confused in terms of organisation of where stuff is linked and clearly most of the Gigbytes of software it spent many hours installing is not immediately accessible.
Are there any CPians out there who love Solaris and can't wait to tell me what it's good for and where I should go for advice on configuring it? Or is it a dead duck, not worth wasting my time with?

I was planning to setup a VPC with Solaris10 this weekend as well.
I do have to experience with several non-MS OSes (OpenVMS, SCO Unix, Debian GNU/Linux, SuSe Linux), but I never got around to use Solaris.
However, you should start reading up on Unix if you have no previous experience. There are some standard ways to do things, and they usually differ wastly from what you would do under Windows.
As soon as I got my vbox up and running I'll post some experience reports here.

Thanks, my *n?x experience is certainly thin and that's one of the things I'm hoping to fix. I have managed to get a Virtual Ubuntu 6.10 system working nicely and almost talking to the WinXP host. A couple of Samba tutorials and I reckon I'll crack it. Solaris is an odd one though. If it's esentially a Unix variant then I suppose that's the way to go with understanding it. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer some learning over from Ubuntu
I wish you luck with the Solaris setup, I had to follow some pretty freaky instructions off the web to get it to boot from the DVD image but after that the next 5 hours of the install went very smoothly, a bit like treacle

in my computer a error message ouuured Boot failure-system halted when i try to open the computer.and in bios setup not visible boot priroty option such as cd,floopy,harddrive etc.what is the problem.please send me the proper solution.

If there is no boot-priority option in the BIOS (you should look again, though) there might be a seperate boot selection menu (I've seen F2 and F12 used for that purpose).
As to your error:
There are several possible explanations and solutions:
Faulty connection:
The plugs may be become undone. Try and replug all cables leading to the harddisk on all ends.
The cable may be damages. Try using another molex connector for power and replace the IDE cables.
"Faulty" harddisk:
If the disk makes a *clack* sound in short intervals or does not spin up during powerup, and there actually is power on the molex plug, replacing the HDD is the way to go.
If the disk does spin up "normally":
Try booting from a Live-CD (Knoppix, Kanotix, etc.) and probe the HDD (maybe use smartctl to read the SMART data). If the HDD is accessible here, chances are that the MBR or partition table are broken (Paragon BootManager tends to do this). Use the Live-CD's HDD tools to fix partition table damage. Use the Windows Recovery Console to fix the MBR.
Faulty mobo:
If the HDD does not spin up, or spins up, but is not recognized by any OS, there probably is a hardware error on the mainboard. Replace the mainboard or try using a different IDE channel (Reinstallation of the OS may become necessary).

Hi All,
I have site developed in ASp.Net 2.0, in site i have folder named "Files", only authenticated users with membership api , can view these files, how i can implement the securty for this folder that no annoymus user can view the files, and only logined user can view the file, pleease guide me step by step.
PS: if i use basic authentication, which user name & password will be sent as clear text, either user name & password which is store in database or some other user name and password.

According to Novell[^], SLED requires 256 MB of RAM so you might want to check your hardware again.
Doesn't the Enterprise version include tech support? Maybe you could try calling Novell . . .

Well, given your low system specs, I'd built something myself, starting off with DSL, LFS or SW (DSL = Damn Small Linux, SW = Slackware (both are distributions), LFS = Linux from Scratch (more a flavour than a distribution).
(Not really "maintained", though)
You may also be successful with Ubuntu or SuSe.
