Hi Prakase,
You can use this code, it works fine
Protected Sub lnkLogOut_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lnkLogOut.Click
Response.Redirect("~/SignOut.aspx")
FormsAuthentication.SignOut()
End Sub

Hi,
Through caching we can do it. We can also do it by setting some properties of ObjectDataSouce control. So Try

I want to add a delegate to each listbox (10 of total on one page), in order to handle selectedIndexChanged event as following:
lstbox.SelectedIndexChanged += new EventHandler(OnSelectedIndexChanged);
private void OnSelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventHandler e)
{
}
I got error like this:
Error 1 No overload for 'OnSelectedIndexChanged' matches delegate 'System.EventHandler'
Can some one help me.
Or any suggestion on what's the best way to handle 10 data list on one page. (display and editable).
Thank you in advance.

You would help yourself if you spoke English here.
Google has tons of info on web services, they are kind of trivial to use.

I am wondering how to add a attribute to an ASP control so that the attribute will show up in the HTML when it is rendered
|
|
|
|
|
Control1.Attributes.Add(string key, string value);
Pretty simple.

for some reason, i dont see it showing up when it is renedered. I am using this in a control. i did this :
Me.Attributes.Add("name", "somename")

Seems like you are using VB.NET since you're using the Me keyword. I'm a C# guy, but I assume Me is a reference to the Page and as far as I know, I don't think that has an attributes collection. Maybe you could provide more information on exactly what you're tryign to do?

Hi all.
I'm essentially being forced to create an asp.net upload script for an app at work. This is no problem and I found it pretty easy to do. However, I need two variables passed to that page from an already existing app page. I don't have the time necessary to rewrite 10,000+ lines of code into asp.net, I just need the asp classic post to go to the .net page.
I can't seem to find a way of grabbing that variable when its posted. Specifically, in this case I launch a popup window on click and it loads the .aspx script there. Things I've read point towards setting session variables of the values you want to use in the .net script. So in my asp classic script, I use ajax onclick to set the asp session variable, then call the function to popup the window with the .net script.
However a simple response.write(session("variablename")) prints absolutely nothing to the screen. (sessions are enabled in .net)
I have a feeling this is an extremely easy answer, but no formal training on .net makes it weird for me and I haven't found a solution online.
Also, is there a way to avoid the "warning page expired" error when clicking on the link in the url bar and hitting enter? I'm not using back. I just want to load the page as if i was loading it for the first time, but it gives me that error and tells me to reload. but reloading will resubmit the form, and i don't want that. I have to close IE to load the page again.
Thanks in advance!

The Classic ASP and ASP.NET sessions are different instances, so unless you go through the hassle of trying to synchronize them then I wouldn't use session. Why not just use the querystring to pass the data to the aspx page?
On the aspx you can then just do the following: (C#)
string variable = Request.QueryString["StringName"];
|
|
|
|
|
That was exactly the simple info I was looking for. I was always trying to use request.form - which doesn't work. and the only info I could find on posting to .net pages was from .net pages.
I appreciate your help in this matter. Its like you just reconstructed my brain after it exploded.
Anyone with the thing on getting the expired page error?
Again- thanks for the help

Anybody have an idea how I can override the browser's history buttons (back, forward)
in an AJAX-based application? I search all over the internet, and what I found was
only a few libraries. I don't want any third-party libraries. Anybody know how I can
do it myself?

I'd be surprised if you could. AJAX works by not posting a new page request. The back and forward buttons track your individual page requests.

I know that. But if there is a way to detect when the user presses the button, we can block it and do our desired action.

Have you tried searching for an answer to your question?
Here is a code project article:
http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/QueryString.asp[^]
Google has tons of hits on query string.
Please try to do a little work on searching for an answer before you post another question.

If you use javascript you can do stuff like self.opener.forms... to set fields on the form who opened the child form. It can get kind of complicated if you go that way, but it does work.
Here is some old code I used when a child form was allowing the user to select a date: (it is in vb.net 1.1, sorry if that is the wrong version and code language)
Private Sub closewindow(ByVal indate As Date)
Dim myScript As New StringBuilder
With myScript
.Append("<script>")
.Append(Environment.NewLine)
'This code sets the correct field on the opener form
Dim tmpstr As String = "self.opener.document.forms[0]." + CStr(Session("DatelookupField"))
.Append(tmpstr)
.Append(".value = """)
.Append(indate.ToShortDateString)
.Append("""")
.Append(Environment.NewLine)
'focus the opener form
.Append("self.opener.focus()")
.Append(Environment.NewLine)
'Close the calendar window
.Append("self.close()")
.Append(Environment.NewLine)
.Append("</script>")
Page.RegisterStartupScript("close window", .ToString())
End With
End Sub
In the parent form when the button was clicked to open the new child form I set the session variable:
Session("DatelookupField") = "txtBoxWeekending"
Maybe not the best code, I did write it quite a few years ago, but it does work.

I'm having a problem with textboxes not displaying as specified on Pocket PC devices.
Regardless of the specified Width, all Textboxes display as the same size.
<pre>
<asp:TextBox id="txtIntials" tabIndex="5" runat="server" Width="48px" Height="24px" Font-Bold="True"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:TextBox id="txtPedigree" runat="server" Font-Size="X-Small" Width="320px" Enabled="False"></asp:TextBox><BR>
</pre>
Is this expected behavior?
Thanks
