the following value contains the username in the format domain\userid:
Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER")
This assumes you are using integrated authentication on the website. If you are not, that value will be empty.

I'm not sure what you meant.
Do you wanna add "request" string to DataTable?
Then, you can write like that ~
Dim dr as DataRow = dtbDataTable.NewRow()<br />
dr(0) = request<br />
dtbDataTable.Rows.Add(dr)

htc doesn't work on non-IE browsers. So, you will need to re-write in Javascript...

Hi There,
Can anyone help me with an idea on how to disable the browsers feature to remember passwords once I login. I need to disable this in code behind, just before the user login.
I mainly work in IE and firefox.
Thank you

You can probably disble the cache. OR use SSL for your web application.

Seem like you are using Windows MessageBox in Web application? Showing the messagebox on the server is not good... You should prefer to use client-side messagebox by using javascript.....

Hi,
You can first check whether the two textboxes are empty or not and if they are not empty then you can check whether they contain correct values or not. If they do not contain correct values then you can generate the error message.

Try to cache it.. and get it back from cache at Page_load.
It is better if you don't create a hidden field at runtime. because it will add extra complexity to your application since that dynamic control doesn't have viewstate.

You should google a lit bit...
function getKeyCode(e)<br />
{<br />
if (window.event)<br />
return window.event.keyCode;<br />
else if (e)<br />
return e.which;<br />
else<br />
return null;<br />
}<br />
<br />
function keyRestrict(e, validchars) {<br />
var key='', keychar='';<br />
key = getKeyCode(e);<br />
if (key == null) return true;<br />
keychar = String.fromCharCode(key);<br />
keychar = keychar.toLowerCase();<br />
validchars = validchars.toLowerCase();<br />
if (validchars.indexOf(keychar) != -1)<br />
return true;<br />
if ( key==null || key==0 || key==8 || key==9 || key==13 || key==27 )<br />
return true;<br />
return false;<br />
}
<input type="text" name="textfield" onKeyPress="return keyRestrict(event,'1234567890')">

How about restricting the user from entering alphabets or special characters Instead of validating the entered text.
check for the keycode using javascript on the keyPress or KeyDown event of the textbox . if the keycode falls between 48 and 57 then the entered key is a number ortherwise return false. when the return value is false it doesn't take the entered value....
function onlynumbers(){<br />
if (window.event.keyCode>=48 && window.event.keyCode<=57){<br />
window.event.returnValue = true;<br />
}<br />
else<br />
window.event.returnValue = false;<br />
}
