CP sends the entire reply

No, it doesn't. It just sends the first few lines of the reply. There is always a link the recipient can click on to go the entire post on the site.

Bad idea. 30 characters is utterly uninformative and just wastes the time sending the email. You may as well just put "Someone replied to your post!" and leave it at that. I for one, HATE those emails and don't use sites that send only that kind of message. I like to be reminded of what I was talking about in the post's thread.

Also, for the sake of members with increased (or elevated) number of posts, this character count can be gradually increased. Platinum/Fixture members can get the full message. Wouldn't that be enough to make them feel grateful to the answerer?

And an ever increasing load on the servers as more and more of these "with greater post count" ideas just keep getting piled on. And no, it's wouldn't give ME an impression that they feel "grateful" for an answer.

Obviously, you've never heard the expression "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink."

Sure, you can send the person an email to get him back to the site. There's nothing you can do to get a person to change his post's status, or even vote on the response he/she got.
