Since your HTML content is too big, better go for Text type.
akhilesh@slk wrote: The problem is this: How do I store the contents of this RichTextBox (which includes HTML + images) using C#.Net. How do I pass this content to a stored procedure using ADO.Net(which data type or what approach can be taken)?
I don't find any difference between storing HTML content and normal data in database. Both can be done in same way. Are you familiar with ADO.NET classes ?

thanks for reply Navaneeth.
I had tried with text, binary, varbinary all data type. these are not supporting to save HTML content. like if content includes only image, Image data type is ok. if it is large or formatted text (like having bolf alsow ith font)then Text data type is ok.
but in case of HTML content means content which may have images, text, controls and many more together, then i didn't find any of the sql database datatype working as i am getting error saying "datatype is incompatible with the content passed as a parameter", if i will use any of text, binary, image or any other ( which looks like compatible for larger object)
so i think it's not just datatype thing,but some other logic is needed..

Still I am not getting what is special for this HTML content. HTML content is also plain text. It is plain text which contains a set of tags. Image's won't be stored as you see them. It will be stored as image tag instead. Images you have to keep somewhere in your server.

Can you show me the HTML content you have which is making problem ?
I have a content management application like wikipedia. In that user's can create page's by writing through a richtext editor. In this I am storing content in database in a varchar column. It works perfectly for me.

Try making the datatype as ntext, even I was facing this problem few months back, so I made it ntext and worked fine..

Hope you are not working on Content Management.
What I understood from your posting and discussion is this... you have RichTextBox which takes Text(with styles) and Image as well. You want to save HTML + Images. Right?
As far as I know when you read the contents of the RichTextBox you will get Text with sytles apllied (HTML Contents along with the Image Path[not the Image]). Second, You can't save HTML + Images in same field in the database, no matter what datatype you use. If sql server has a DataType that supports Text Based Data and Images together and If it can read in the same way how it is stored then there will not be any need for the Content management Server....
If I'm wrong anywhere please.... I would like to know....

yes john. u r right. we can't store htmls like any textbox / label / links etc with images into one field in the database, and this is the need for me, so i was thinking if any work around is there. like some kind of parsing or some other bright idea behind the solution. and yes, u got my problem right and also m not working on content management.
my requirement is like that i have a rich text box and user can copy any html page (full or partial of the page, any page take any google or microsoft page) and can paste in my text box and will want to save by clicking a button for saving. u will be thinking why it is needed, but requirement is like that to allow user to save any html (also images(not image address), links etc what can be on a page). and next time he may want to see this content and modify some text or delete some data like wants to delete some control or image from content( i have one more flow for showing content back based on some contentID)

I have moved the values from one listbox to another listbox by using Javascript. How can I reterive the values from the second listbox in server side ie., code behind? Because i will store the selected values in DB.
Assume that the
First listbox
-------------
Raja
Jayaraj
Meena
Rupa
Kannan
Radha
I Moved the Meena , Kannan to Second Listbox
Second Listbox
-------------
Meena
Kannan
In Add_Click
I have to assign the values in a string in comma separation
For example
string m_Names;
m_Names=Meena,Kannan;

hey guy just use the datareader and insert add the item of one listbox
like
dim dr as dataadapter
cmd.commandtext="select ur datatable"
dr.open
dr=cmd.executereader
dr.read
listbox2.text=add.item("datacolumnname")
dr.close

The above method doesnt looks to be efficient. Since it will call for a postbacl each time...
Try this.
Listbox sends "all" the selected values as postback to the server side. This hint is enough to get the job done [ ].
So what u need to do is...
1.. before form submit, u need to selecte all the items in the listbox from which u want to read the values. (this will be done in javascript)
2...string str = Request.Form["MySelectedListBox"]
3... "str" will contain "values" of al the items as csv.
4.. string []selectedItems = str.split(',');
5...foreach(string strItem in selectedItems)
{
//Insert into database.
}
Please grade the reply.. in case it helped you.
Thanks.

In VB .net, there are two types of methods: functions and subroutines.
Subroutine Declarations:
Code: ( vb )
Sub method-name(parameter-list)
declarations and statements
End Sub
Function Declarations:
Code: ( vb )
Function method-name(parameter-list) As return-type
declarations and statements
....
return expression
End Function
So again, function is a method type that you can use to return values, where sub routines does not return a value. In fact, as you can see, a function or subroutine in Vb.net are both methods.
Example of a shared function in the FCL framework:
Code: ( vb )
dim quad as integer = math.pow(2,4)
That will make, of course, quad = 16.
Hope that helped!

I believe the technical difference is that a function is not in a class, whereas a method is.
You'll see method and member function used interchangeably which is fine (a function that is a member of a class, get it? Correct term when discussing C++). Function and method shouldn't be used interchangeably, but often will be.
I'd suggest you don't sweat it, they both represent blocks of code that do something and might return a value.

In c# we speak only of methods (a procedure or function within a class).
Other languages distinguish between them (is there a result value, (not) contained in a class, ...)
