Put this code .aspx.cs file.
ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude((this.GetType), "MyScript", "JScriptFileName.js");
DrpArtifact.Attributes.Add("OnSelectedIndexChanged", "return ValidateFunction('" + DrpEntityType.ClientID + "');

I dont think "OnSelectedIndexChanged" is an event in javascript... instead try this:::
DrpArtifact.Attributes.Add("OnChange", "return ValidateFunction('" + DrpEntityType.ClientID + "');

Atlas is the project name for ASP.NET AJAX.
Therefore it's the same thing.

Hi all,
I'm developing an ASP.Net application containing a module to save and display HTML content.
So I have a RichTextBox control that used to edit and shows content. onclick of a button (for saving) i need to save this to sql server 2005 database.
The problem is this: How do I store the contents of this RichTextBox (which includes HTML + images) using C#.Net. How do I pass this content to a stored procedure using ADO.Net(which data type or what approach can be taken)?
what shall be related column data type which will store this content.
Anyone out there worked on a similar solution? Any bright idea?
I'll be forever thankful!
Regards,
Akhilesh

Before starting your Application just read the Books related to Ado.Net and the Stored procedures and also the Data types and start it.
There are Several links are available here in CP itself.

Since your HTML content is too big, better go for Text type.

I don't find any difference between storing HTML content and normal data in database. Both can be done in same way. Are you familiar with ADO.NET classes ?

thanks for reply Navaneeth.
I had tried with text, binary, varbinary all data type. these are not supporting to save HTML content. like if content includes only image, Image data type is ok. if it is large or formatted text (like having bolf alsow ith font)then Text data type is ok.
but in case of HTML content means content which may have images, text, controls and many more together, then i didn't find any of the sql database datatype working as i am getting error saying "datatype is incompatible with the content passed as a parameter", if i will use any of text, binary, image or any other ( which looks like compatible for larger object)
so i think it's not just datatype thing,but some other logic is needed..

Still I am not getting what is special for this HTML content. HTML content is also plain text. It is plain text which contains a set of tags. Image's won't be stored as you see them. It will be stored as image tag instead. Images you have to keep somewhere in your server.

Can you show me the HTML content you have which is making problem ?
I have a content management application like wikipedia. In that user's can create page's by writing through a richtext editor. In this I am storing content in database in a varchar column. It works perfectly for me.

Try making the datatype as ntext, even I was facing this problem few months back, so I made it ntext and worked fine..

Hope you are not working on Content Management.
What I understood from your posting and discussion is this... you have RichTextBox which takes Text(with styles) and Image as well. You want to save HTML + Images. Right?
As far as I know when you read the contents of the RichTextBox you will get Text with sytles apllied (HTML Contents along with the Image Path[not the Image]). Second, You can't save HTML + Images in same field in the database, no matter what datatype you use. If sql server has a DataType that supports Text Based Data and Images together and If it can read in the same way how it is stored then there will not be any need for the Content management Server....
If I'm wrong anywhere please.... I would like to know....

yes john. u r right. we can't store htmls like any textbox / label / links etc with images into one field in the database, and this is the need for me, so i was thinking if any work around is there. like some kind of parsing or some other bright idea behind the solution. and yes, u got my problem right and also m not working on content management.
my requirement is like that i have a rich text box and user can copy any html page (full or partial of the page, any page take any google or microsoft page) and can paste in my text box and will want to save by clicking a button for saving. u will be thinking why it is needed, but requirement is like that to allow user to save any html (also images(not image address), links etc what can be on a page). and next time he may want to see this content and modify some text or delete some data like wants to delete some control or image from content( i have one more flow for showing content back based on some contentID)
