Not sure, but have you looked around at the Microsoft Office Interop classes?

I know this should be very simple but I can't get it to work.
Here's the problem:
I'v got 5 tabs in this order (for the moment) 'Overall','Info','Place,'Sort','Account'
now I need to get the 'Info' tab as last tab.
Normally I would just adjust the order in the property 'tabpages' of my tabcontrol (with the up and down buttons) however this doesn't work.
I'm thinking that the following is the reason why it doesn't work
the tabpages 'Overall' and 'Info' are in the ancestor of my form (because these tabs will be used everywhere in the programme) the 3 other tabs were added.
Now my question would be: Am I right to assume that the ancestor is forcing the tabs 'Overall' and 'Info' to be the first two. And if so can I prevent this so that I can place the tab 'Info' at the end?
If my help was helpfull let me know, if not let me know why.
The only way we learn is by making mistaks.

When I have converted my .mdb to a .mde file it shows an error while opening some forms in that .mde file, it shows the following error.
<br />
That command isn't available in a MDE database <br />
Could it be problem while I did the coversion or is it an error in coding?

Strictly speaking this is more of an Access database or VBA question rather than a VB .Net question.
Do you understand the difference between an MDB and MDE file?
One feature of MDE databases is that they do not allow the user to view VBA(visual basic for applications) code.
This is a way of protecting developers' code from being changed or stolen.
My guess is that there is something in the VBA that is not able to operate in an MDE file.
What I suggest is looking at the VBA, in the MDB, that is kicked off when one of the malfunctioning forms open.
Compare this to a form that is working and you may spot something.
Hope this helps

Yes it is a VBA application. The application was written by somebody else. I have to convert it to an MDE. When I see the VB code it is all fine and working for each form. But there is a Main form that comes up first while running the MDE. It seems similar to an MDI Form as in VB but I can not spot that form any where in the MDB. When i take startup option in the tools menu there is Menu bar. It is a dropdown with two values: default and 'Mnubar'. I can not spot any file with the name Mnubar in the project explorer.

I've only done a very small amount of work with menubars in Access so I cannot offer much help - however one clue I can give you is that menubars can be changed in design time so it is not necessarily in the VBA.
I think Mnubar is a menu that was created at design time. I'm not sure of which version of Access you are using but in 97 and 2000 menus are just objects that float in cyberspace that are not present on the project explorer. This is why I hardly use them as they can be very messy - as you are discovering.
It sounds like the menubar has a function on it that the MDE does not like.

Hi,
I want to put an excel file in a table.<br />
I use this code:<br />
<br />
<code>Dim archivo As String = openFileDialog1.FileName<br />
<br />
FileDirectory = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(archivo)<br />
FileName = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(archivo)<br />
DBFConnection = New Odbc.OdbcConnection("Driver={Microsoft dBASE Driver (*.dbf)};Dbq=" + FileDirectory + ";")<br />
DBFConnection.Open()<br />
Dim dr As New System.Data.Odbc.OdbcCommand("SELECT * FROM " + filename, DBFConnection)<br />
Dim dt As New Data.Odbc.OdbcDataAdapter(dr)<br />
Dim t As New Data.DataTable<br />
dt.Fill(t)
but I get the error :
ERROR [42S02] [Microsoft][ODBC dBase Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'A12_BLANK'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly.
please help.
thanks.

Surely if the database is a file, your connection string needs the file path, not just the directory path ?
It would help to tell us how A12_BLANK fits into the picture, is it a directory name ? A file name ? Something unknown ?

The problem is that I can connect to my database but I can't get the information from the file.
The file A12_BLANK (the name of the file I want to insert in a table) is a excel file.
thanks.

So, you're code is written to open a DBASE file (hint: Connection String!), but you're trying to get it to open an Excel file?
|
|
|
|
|
your code:
<br />
DBFConnection = New Odbc.OdbcConnection("Driver={Microsoft dBASE Driver (*.dbf)};Dbq=" + FileDirectory + ";")
maybe better:
<br />
DBFConnection = New Odbc.OdbcConnection("Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DriverId=790;Dbq=" + FileDirectory + ";")
please don´t ask me why driferid = 790, i didn´t try this code, found it with google.

|
|

it doesn't work.
thanks .
|
|
|
|
|
did you use the complete filename for the excel file?

I create an application and i try to access the .exe from another system in the network.
I got an error message " Request for the permission of type System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed "
How can i solve.

Managed code running from a non-local source, i.e.: anything not locally attached to the machine, is run inside a heavily restricted sandbox. You've got so serious reading to do to understand Code Access Security. Just go to MSDN[^] and search for "Code Access Security".

Hello,
Small question, but it's given me nightmares at the moment.
Can I hold class instances in a collection, lets say arraylist?
sample code that doesn't work
<br />
Dim ClasseInstance = New Classe(parametros)<br />
<br />
' Add the instance to the arraylist<br />
InstanceHolder.Add(ClasseInstance)<br />
it's dashing the following error when i try to add the ClasseInstance to the arraylist: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Can someone help me out with what i missed.
Thanks

This error probably means that InstanceHolder is null.

Thanks a lot.
I feel foolish
I had this on top
Private InstanceHolder As ArrayList
instead of
Private InstanceHolder As New ArrayList

Hello friends,
We want to create background thread which run automatically in
regular interval
and run a particular sub ? please give your advice Thanks

You might wanne check out this:
' initialize
Private Timer_Queue As New System.Threading.Timer(New System.Threading.TimerCallback(AddressOf Timer_Queue_TimerCallBack), Nothing, System.Threading.Timeout.Infinite, Nothing)
Private Const Timer_QueueInterval As Long = 250
' at load or somewhere else...
Timer_Queue.Change(0, Timer_QueueInterval)
' the worker
Private Sub Timer_Queue_TimerCallBack(ByVal state As Object)
' do work
End Sub
enjoy.

Seriously.
As you were told, the articles have forums under them, if you want to ask the author something. Asking someone to convert C# to VB.NET is just not going to happen. If you're unable to use the code via a dll, then you need to convert it yourself ( although I doubt you're capable of it, it's really not hard ), or buy a convertor, several exist.
In any case, the web abounds with examples of how to integrate Word, I don't see how you could fail to find a VB.NET sample.
