This is a network related error. Your application cannot connect to the mail server specified.
SmtpMail.SmtpServer
1)Is a valid SMTP Server
2)Check to be sure the server System.Web.Mail is executing on can connect to the mail server. Some times firewalls or proxy servers can get in the way.
3)Try specifying the value by IP address. Poor DNS resolution can sometimes hinder name lookups.
4)Make sure the that the mail server is running at port 25.
5)If you did not specify a SmtpMail.SmtpServer property, or if SmtpMail.SmtpServer points to "localhost" (or the equivalent), be sure the SMTP Service is running on port 25.
For testing purposes change the MailMessage.From and MailMessage.To properties to an address that exists on SmtpMail.SmtpServer. Some times this exception is thrown, when it really is a relay issue.
also try this
SmtpMail.SmtpServer.Insert( 0, "127.0.0.1 or your mail server name here")
Also make sure Anonymous access is allowd.

FYI - this is rude.
Where are people browsing from ? If they browse the file system, how does this relate to ASP.NET ? Or do you mean if the site is on the local machine and you browse to a page ? How does that matter, will anyone do that when it deploys ?

Wow.
Try reading the post on how to ask questions
1 - what is the error message ?
2 - what does the dll do ?
3 - are you expecting to call it on the server, or the client ?
4 - why are you using a COM dll at all ?

RegularExpressionValidator
Set ValidationExpression="\d+" accept only integer value.
OR
CompareValidator
Set Property Type="integer"
ValueToCompare="0"
Operator="greaterthanequal"

I have a grid view. In that gridview I have somecheck boxes in EditItemTemplate. I need to validate those check boxes. I am using customValidate controls and java script to validate check boxes. but it gives me error message that IsActiveCheckBox is not found in current context. Mat be checkbox is in EditItemTemplate field. I am not sure. How can I fix this.
e'g
function ValidateIsActiveCs(source, args)
{
args.IsValid = document.getElementById('<%=IsActiveCheckBox.ClientID %>').checked;
}
<asp:CheckBox ID="IsActiveCheckBox" runat="server" Checked='<%# Bind("MyColumn") %>' />
<asp:CustomValidator ID="cvlIsActive" runat="server" ClientValidationFunction="ValidateIsActiveCs" ErrorMessage="This field should be checked">*</asp:CustomValidator></td>
<div class="ForumSig">seema</div>
|
|
|
|
|
IS IsActiveCheckBox your checkbox's ID?
If yes take it as ElementID
Try this code
args.IsValid = document.getElementById('IsActiveCheckBox').checked;

Hi,
Write a server side Function
public string GetCheckBoxId()
{
CheckBox chk = (CheckBox)GridView1.Rows[rownum].Cells[cellno].FindControl("IsActiveCheckBox");
return chk.ClientID;
}
then use this function inside java script
<br />
args.IsValid = document.getElementById('<%=GetCheckBoxId()%>>').checked;<br />
To succeed, we must first believe that we can.

Hi after or before saving this file just open this file using streamreader or like that class(File handling). then make it single string then its easy by String.substring() method.
