Hey guys
Any idea about "Upload File via FTP using ASP.net 1.1"???
|
|
|
|
|
Use the Save AS.. method for file upload control to save youe file on to server then give the path for your server where you want to store the file.

|
|

FTP in ASP.NET 1.1 is a bit cumbersome process compared to .NET 2.0 where different new classes have been added. You may view following forum post which gives an idea on how to create your own FTP client in 1.1:
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=421403&SiteID=1
Also note that in order to write an ASP.NET application that allows users to transfer files to and from FTP servers, the files must make two trips.
To upload files from a browser to the FTP Server would require:
1. The files to be located on the web server, because this is the FTP client. Therefore, the files must be uploaded to the web server from the browser. This is done using HTTP and not through FTP.
2. Once a file is on the web server, it can then be transferred to the FTP server using FTP communication.
The crux is, you have to use HTTP as well as FTP communication for the same

Hi Programmers,
In my application i m using 30 session varialbles.i want to know will it effect the application access speed,if the number of users are 5 how will it effect,if the number of users are many how it will effect.please suggest if this is not good then what is the solution for this.

well using more and more session effects server speed. You can reduce number of sessions by passing information through querystring etc.
|
|
|
|
|
Definetly as session are going to store at server side the memory requirement for your application will increase if you use many session variables so if you have to store 3 to 5 varaibles then you can use session but 30 session varaibles sounds bad ...
Why are you storing those things in session ...... ?
Why don't you use database or pass them in query string if data is not concern to security ....
Or yuo can create xml files to store the data
Thanks and Regards

After repeated attempts, I have un-istalled IIS on the server and tried to Reinstall it again.The files on the installation cd seems to be corrupt because it cannot be copied across.As a result, the Exchange is no longer working due to the smtp service being removed.Is the some way to install IIS from an exe application or can these files be downloaded from somewhere?I Have tried to use the files from Windows server 2003 but it does not work.
Thanks

Why not to use Javascript Back button
<INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" VALUE="Go Back" <br />
ONCLICK="history.go(-1)">
|
|
|
|
|
you can write '' or on button click write 'Response.Redirect (Request.UrlReferrer.ToString());'

vcode column name doest not exist in your resulting Dataset.
YOUR SQL QEURY DOES NOT RETURN VCODE DATAFIELD NAME.
RUN YOUR SQL QUERY IN SQL QUERY ANALYSER AND CHECK OUT RESULT.

Hi all!
I am using RDLC reports with ASP.Net and am experiencing a problem displaying the reportviewer in the content pane of a master page. I need to make the reportviewer to dock onto the content pane of the masterpage such that the reportviewer will always fit onto the content pane as the page is viewed from different display resolutions. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Put all uploaded file in one of your application folder or create a virtual directoy and add put all these files there
Now when you want to open a file in browser put anchor tag that will refer to that file

Yes, obviously, as that's where the file is, but how do you want to view it?
How do you want the file to be displayed? As a file name? As an image? As an icon?
Where do you want the file displayed? In a web page?

I'm a bit confused.
Searching the web for a solution to disable caching, I found several answers to this question. Unfortunately, I found several different answers all containing a mix of
- Response.Expires
- Response.Cache.SetNoStore
- Response.AddHeader("pragma", "no-cache");
- Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);
And secondly the documentation in MSDN is not quite clear, what every method exactly does.
Maybe someone can help me understand?
Thanks in advance
