But why do you want to search the content from the gridview?
You can also search from the database with same condition.
Or You can highlight string with replace methods of string.
i.e
string.replace("keyword","<font color=red>keyword</font>");

Whatever you do, you should Bind the data again. So, search the word, id whatever, highlight the row which you want to highlight and bind it again.

Hi,
I am using one container control (lets say datagrid) in one user control so container control's name will be prefixed to all its children controls.
Now because of this my page size is increased so much.
I want to shorts id properties of rendered (server controls to) html controls and it should raised my server side events.

You can't change the id's, the framework generates them. Your best bet is not to nest anything, that increase the name size. Turning off viewstate, if you can, will give you a better decrease in size.

i have designed my aspx pages and the alignment was good in iexplorer...
but when i checked in mozilla the total alignment was changed can any body tell me how to fix this one???????????

i am able to setup and deploy the application(ASp.net2.0) when i am running the application through network it is giving 404 error while access that page .url as fellows http:\\ipaddress\localhost\Setup1\pagename.aspx

instead of localhost and setup1 give the virtualdirectory name

when u set the application in IIS we give the virtual directory.
and if u r giving the ipaddredd then do not specify localhost.
try it and let me know.

I need your help, If a user clicks download button one xml document is created and to be download..i have the code for getting the xml document but don't have the code for download that file ..if some body helps me it's great....

That's not the way i expect..because i don't have specific file in location...this xml document is created dynamically at runtime say, when the user clicks download button.....
