I always prefer using Visual Source Safe.
It is very reliable and also allows to compare files that were never ever stored in the VSS

windiff is rubbish. Sure, it works, but any commercal merge program has it beat.

Hi,
I have stored a mp3 file in binary format into database.Now i want to retrieve from database.
I am not able to retrieve that. Can anybody help me how to do this?

Surely a select will retrieve the data if it's there. Are you sure you're explaining the problem correctly ? What's the code, and what happens ?

Hi,
I want to retrive mp3 file,which is converted into binary format and stored in database using asp.net.
I don't know how to retrieve this file in datagrid
and also i want play that file using media player ,whenever i clicked on it.
Is it clear

To 'show' it in the datagrid, you plainly have to write it to your file system and have a link to it. Odds are, you'd be better off to store them in your file system and store paths in your DB

Yes, you can detect it in javascript, and thanks to AJAX, you're able to notify the server when it occurs.

No, you can't detect if the window is being closed.
What you can do is to use the onunload event to detect when the user leaves the page. This is triggered when the window is closed, when the user navigates elsewhere and when the user enters an url directly. You have to keep track of all navigation on the page to be able to determine if the user is navigating to a different page or not. You can't, howerer, determine if the window is being closed or if the user entered an url directly to leave the page.

if(window.confirm('Want to close?'))
{
window.close();
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
