Hello There,
I want to read a Pdf files and then i have to count the characters,Words, pages of that files.... i have to do it in Asp.net...
please Help. Its Urgent....

Of course it is.
1 - ASP.NET is not a language, it's a framework for generating html. You mean you want to do this in VB.NET or C#.
2 - you can't, not without writing a class to do it, or buying a commercial component that does it. Or perhaps looking for a free one.
Please don't ask me where to find a free one, the fact that I said perhaps, means I don't know of one.

I am trying to inherits membership class and implementing IXmlSerializable but it doesn't work.

No I didn't implement GetSchema(). I don't know how to implement it. If I say return null; It is not showing any thing

Hello,
Thank you for reading this post. Here is my question. I have a datagrid and have 5 columns in it.The first one being should be a button column(either a button column or a template column with button is fine). The second column is lets say Email Subject, 3rd column is email date, 4th column hidden is customer_id and 5th column is email_sequence_id which is also hidden. My problem is this. When I click on the button in the datagrid i need to open a new window and go to a aspx page lets say showemail.aspx?id=custid&email_sequence_id=sequenceid where custid=column 4 of the datagrid and sequenceid=column 5 of the datagrid for that row. And this needs to open up in a new browser window. How do i do it ?? I tried using javascript and didnt work. Any suggestion will help. Please also be kind enough to give me a code sample because iam a little new to ASP.NET

You can always make a button generate the popup, instead of an anchor tag, the thing is, the 'hidden' columns are not necessary, you use your databinding statements to build the URL in the column that it appears.

Hi,
Do IE have any javascript Event with when its activated.
Example:
i have two IE running. Window A (google) and Window B(yahoo).
lets assume the current window is B (yahoo),
Question :
when i do alt + Tab or shift to window A (google). i need to fire an Javascript .
i looked in to window Object , onfocus, onfocusin etc etc, but its no use.
i need the script to fire every time when i swicth the windows.
Please suggest.

My application is a master page/with content page. Content page has an update panel with a menuitem/multiview/view items. View item 0 has a dropdown box. When selecting view item 0, dropdown box is displayed. When selecting an item from the dropdown box, the program goes through PageLoad and never executes the SelectedItemChanged event. How do I access the selectedIndexChanged event on the view control?

You need to include the Request.Url.host+"/" before the Request.QueryString("ReturnUrl"),
Mess around some other properties like Host and you will find the proper way to redirect

I have two buttons accept and hang up and a label......
if user clicks accept button i want to display teh time in the label starting from 0mins 0secs....
if user clicks hangup button it must display how much time taken for both the clicks....

in that .js file at one line i am getting javascript error and then getting error IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. closing the window. the line that causing error is

Sorry some correction in post i am not getting any error but the window is closing suddenly after giving IE error

I have to develop a on-line workshop tool related to simulation games.
The system has to integrate different tools such as chat, voip to be used by the initiator and a presentation tool.
Now here is the problem!
Which is the best way to develop a system where the initiator can show a live presentation (usually done in powerpoint) to the participant?
What I mean is that the initiator should control on-line the presentation (next or previous slide) while talking and the participant should see the presentation live.
I know that there is sharepoint, but the cost for the server side is expensive.
I was wondering if there is, and which is the best solution to do it with normal windows form and and standard server.

You want the processed HTML of ASPX page to be saved as HTML page right ? Then use WebClient class. This class provides various methods to do this. Use DownloadFile() method and pass the ASPX page which you want to convert. This method will give request to ASPX page specified and downloads the response to the file you specified.
Note : If your ASPX page uses Session's, then this will show error.
