Of course. you can use if statements in a stored proc.

if not exists (select * from mytable where mycolumn = @myvalue)
begin
insert into mytable values (@myvalue)
end
something like that.
I also googled ( do you ever do this ? ) and this was the first hit:

Impossible, without knowing the structure of your database. Presumably it would take the selected item from the first list and pass it into a database call to get the relevant second list.
The book 'AJAX in Action' has an excellent sample which can be used to do this with AJAX. It's a prime candidate IMO for a place where AJAX adds a lot of value.

Dear All,
I need a Regular Expression to validate a date
in yyyy-mm-dd at Server Side.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance .

The program Expresso is great for learning/testing regex, it's easy to find with google. In this case, it's just
\d{4}-\d{2}-\d{2}
assuming you want to force the format you showed ( i.e. not accepting 2007-12-2 or 2007-2-12 )
If you want to accept those values, it's
\d{4}-\d{1,2}-\d{1,2}

how to Make a Project in ASP.net Which will capture Image by Using a Webcam?
May we add a part of an individual project in to our application ? if we have only EXE of that Project
|
|
|
|
|
to capture a webcam, you'll need to write the code as a browser plugin, which means your users need .NET installed ( if you use C# ) and will need to trust your site enough to allow your code to run on their machine. This is not likely to work unless you are dealing with users who already trust you.

create an instance of field type that you want to add in your gridview.
For eg,If you want to create a buttonfield, create an instance of buttonfield.
Dim col1 As New ButtonField
Next set the basic properties for that instance.
col1.HeaderText = "ButtonColumn"
col1.ButtonType = ButtonType.Button
col1.Text = "Click"
Add that instance to your gridview
GridView1.Columns.Add(col1)

i was trying to populate the dropdownlist in the following manner.
objclsdb.BindingWithControl(this.DropDownList1, "ItemID", "ItemName");
2nd parameter is value member
3rd member is display member
public string BindingWithControl(DropDownList ctl,string ValueMember,string DisplayMember)
{
ctl.DataTextField = DisplayMember;
ctl.DataValueField = ValueMember;
ctl.DataSource = ds;
}
but the code is not populating the dropdonlist.
code for dataset is not mentioned .
because it is working.

ctl.DataBind(); at the end of your function.

i guess you're forgetting something else
if you're working in web app
ctl.DataBind();
your method will be something like this:
public string BindingWithControl(DropDownList ctl,string ValueMember,string DisplayMember)
{
ctl.DataTextField = DisplayMember;
ctl.DataValueField = ValueMember;
ctl.DataSource = ds;
ctl.DataBind(); // here you're telling the control, now go get the data
}

make a function to trim it
easiest job!
|
|
|
|
|
hey gamzun
well, if the trim() function isnt removing em, how do i go about doing it.
one approach i could think was using the substring function. but the fields that are retrieved are of variable length, so that wont work.
could you advise, how should i go bout it.

hi kunal
bro just use replace function like this
string url = "wwww.cp.com/new%20folder/my%20another%20new%20folder/Default.aspx";
url = url.Replace("%20"," ");
in this way you'll get rid of these %20 n replace it with the whitespace or anything u want

You created two threads with the same question yesterday. I told you not to repost, and I told you that this is not an ASP.NET question.
I see that you also posted the question in the VB forum, so now you have reposted this question twice, posted three times in the wrong forum and also cross posted it. Are you deliberately trying to irritate people?

No, it's not. As Guffa said, you're not asking an ASP.NET question. Here's a hint, when I see people asking in the wrong forums, repeatedly, I tend to ignore their questions in the right forums.
I answered this question earlier today in the VB forum, was it for you ?
