How much different can it be from the code that initially sets the password? Surely it just changing the INSERT into an UPDATE? (more-or-less)

What do you mean?
The result of compiling a Console or Windows project is an executable file.

I have mentioned "Self excutable file"
which mean it should run automatically on a certain situation without clicking the icon.

What situation? You haven't explained what you are trying to do.
If you want to launch an executable programmatically, have a look at the Process[^] class.

yeah thats right.
The file should run automatically if we send it to another location, it maybe a folder or a computer.

Hmm, that sounds a bit dodgy...
You're not trying to write a virus, are you?

Thankfully, not much of one. I think you'd currently be classed as a "script-kiddie".

and you already described a person's attitude and personal qualification.
Its okay.

nah. A script kiddie has a minimum base level of skill needed to use his toys. This person doesn't, he's just a kidiot, all talk, no act.

There is no such thing and it's a HUGE security violation to even consider it. It's impossible to launch an .EXE on a remote computer just by copying the file to it. The remote computer has to be told to run it after the file is copied. This is also a huge securtiy violation and should be avoided as a solution.

Hi,
Currently looking to develop a real-time application that receive market data feeds from a series of sources. The market data would be updated on a regular basis to over 100 connected clients.
I have a few question and would appreciate everyones advice.
1. Is WCF over TCP as quick as .NET remoting?
2. Is WCF capable of dealing with large number of prices to over 100 clients.
Lastly, does anyone know any good C# books on TCP programming with WCF?
Thanks in advance
|
|

I would say that for this type of application, WCF is going to be as performant as remoting. There may be some speed differences either way, but they shouldn't be enough to really matter.
Yes, WCF will be capable of dealing with this amount of data.
As far as books go, you really just need one on WCF programming. The choice of transport channel doesn't really change how you build the WCF service, only how it is configured. You can check out any of these WCF books from Amazon.com.
