To share an assembly within a web application we add the assembly in the \bin folder. If we need to share between mulitple ASP.NET web application then we can install it in the (GAC)Global Assembly Cache.

ASp.NET is not really the best way to write a chat app, unless you use AJAX a lot. I'd say a windows app makes more sense.
The core issue is, you need a central server so you can find IP addresses of people you want to chat to.

Like I said. A central server, which all clients log in to. That logs all the IP addresses of people who are online and handles connecting them to each other.

Hi All,
I need to bulid a tree using Recursion. I am having a datatable named dt with all parents, childs and grand child. I need to build a string depending on parent child and grand child. dt has the following records:
ChildID Desc ParentID
------------------------------------------------------------------------
266498 Parent 1 NULL
266500 Child 1 266498
266522 Child 2 266498
266546 Child 3 266498
266501 Grand Child 1 266500
266502 Grand Child 2 266500
266503 Grand Child 3 266500
266511 Grand Child 1 266522
266512 Grand Child 2 266522
266513 Grand Child 3 266522
266514 Grand Child 4 266522
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here the string which I need to build:
var iItem266498=m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(null, 'Parent 1');
var iItem266500=m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266498,'Child 1');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266500,'Grand Child 1');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266500,'Grand Child 2');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266500,'Grand Child 3');
var iItem266522=m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266498,'Child 2');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266522,'Grand Child 1');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266522,'Grand Child 2');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266522,'Grand Child 3');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266522,'Grand Child 4');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266522,'Grand Child 5');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266522,'Grand Child 6');
m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem266498,'Child 3');
So I worte a recursive function, following is the code:
private void GetValues()
{
foundParent = dt.Select("ParentID Is null");
if (foundParent.GetUpperBound(0) > 0)
{
for (Int32 intRowCnt = 0; intRowCnt <= foundParent.GetUpperBound(0); intRowCnt++)
{
foundChild = dt.Select("ParentID=" + foundParent[intRowCnt]["ChildID"]);
if (foundChild.GetUpperBound(0) > 0)
{
strDBScript.Append("var iItem" + foundParent[intRowCnt][0] + "=");
}
strDBScript.Append("m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(null, '");
for (intColCnt = 0; intColCnt <= dt.Columns.Count - 1; intColCnt++)
{
if (intColCnt == 0 || intColCnt == 2)
{
}
else
{
strDBScript.Append(foundParent[intRowCnt][intColCnt] + ";");
}
}
strDBScript.Append("');");
AddChildNodes(Int32.Parse(foundParent[intRowCnt][0].ToString()));
}
}
}
private void AddChildNodes(Int32 parentID)
{
DataRow[] foundParent = dt.Select("ParentID=" + parentID);
if (foundParent.GetUpperBound(0) > 0)
{
for (Int32 intRowCnt = 0; intRowCnt <= foundParent.GetUpperBound(0); intRowCnt++)
{
strDBScript.Append("m_wsGridCtrl.InsItem(iItem" + parentID + ",'");
for (Int32 intColCnt = 0; intColCnt <= dt.Columns.Count - 1; intColCnt++)
{
if (intColCnt == 0 || intColCnt == 2)
{
}
else
{
strDBScript.Append(foundParent[intRowCnt][intColCnt] + ";");
}
}
strDBScript.Append("');");
foundChild = dt.Select("ParentID=" + foundParent[intRowCnt]["ChildID"]);
if (foundChild.GetUpperBound(0) > 0)
{
strDBScript.Append("var iItem" + foundParent[intRowCnt][0] + "=");
}
if (ChildNodeExists(Int32.Parse(foundParent[intRowCnt][0].ToString())))
{
AddChildNodes(Int32.Parse(foundParent[intRowCnt][0].ToString()));
}
}
}
}
private bool ChildNodeExists(Int32 parentID)
{
foundChild = dt.Select("ParentID=" + parentID);
if (foundChild.GetUpperBound(0) > 0)
{
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
}
My problem is that my string is not building in proper way. Please help me how do I do this....
Thanks in advance...
