Have you perhaps copied the site up twice, windows has named one set 'copy of', or one set is in a subfolder, so it's finding two cs files that define the same class, and that's what's ambiguous ?

You are creating dynamic textbox control on button click event but on which controls event you want to get value of textbox
First you have to create this textbox on every postpack otherwise you can't get value of textbox.

I am giving you one sample code.
try this and see how to create dynamic control and how to use it.
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
TextBox txt = new TextBox();
txt.ID = "myTxt";
PlaceHolder1.Controls.Add(txt);
}
protected void Button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Write(((TextBox)this.PlaceHolder1.FindControl("myTxt")).Text);
}

You'd have to overload LoadViewState and SaveViewState, and work out what textboxes you need to create in there, I reckon.

The click event is too late. On postback, it needs to be recreated prior to the page load. Or, you can have a hidden field on your form and write javascript to store the text of your textboxes, perhaps as xml, within that field.

The drag and drop feature where we drag files from our local folders and drop them into any windows application to either launch the file, upload it etc is very common and well supported.
But I have a requirement by a client who wants this very feature in the ASP.NET web application which we have provided them with. THey want to be able to drag and drop e-mail attachments from outlook directly on to the web form which should then process this file and upload it to the web server.
Guys I really think this is too optimistic , but is there some way that this can be done..
Any comments will be much appreciated..

Yes, it can be done, but only if the web app is running a browser plug in, i.e. if every user of the page is willing to allow a plugin to be trusted and installed. Then you can support drag and drop on that plugin's page area only.

Tks a lot for a quick reply! After your reply I googled for such plug-ins but I am unable to locate any. If you have any links for such plug-ins or any more info please let me know.

Hi Friends,
I have posted this before also.
But i didnt get any replies?
Is it really not possible to disable a asp TextBox on Click of asp Button?
I am trying Javascript.
I am able to call the script onclick of my button, but i believe i am not able to
get the TextBox control and disable it.
My script goes
function Validate()
{
document.getElementById('GVRoomType_ctl07_txtNewName').diabled=true;
}
<asp:LinkButton ID="lbtnEdit" runat="server" OnClientClick="Validate()" CausesValidation="False"
Thanks for your help..
Cheers

If you want a control to run javascript, why make it a server control at all ?
This will work, so long as you spell 'disabled' properly, and so long as the Id is right. I tend to put something like this in my ASPX
<script language='Javascript>
var newNameId='<%=txtNewName.ClientID %>';
</script>
Or you can emit the code in your code behind with RegisterClientScriptBlock calls.
I put the rest of my script in a .js file. That way, I know my Id is always good. And, I make sure my code is spelled right.
I use firefox and firebug to debug my javascript. Without it, you're kind of lost at sea.
