Try to use XML instead of altering the web.config file at runtime.
And check whether your stlyesheets coding are closed while executing the application or building the application.

hi,
thank you for trying to help out.
to the And check whether your stylesheets coding are closed while executing the application or building the application. i don't see how it should be possible for the styles to change in any way doing execution of the application?
Or by closed did you mean something else? Like finished loading?

I want user to serach people via post code now if the user enters sy k than response should be that list of all people with post code starting form k
now the user have to press enter to do that
|
|
|
|
|
Would it be a solution for you to do this with ajax insteed?
So that while the user is writing in the textbox they would instantly get a response from the server showing the people with the specific postal code?
You could code it so that the event did not fire until a specific amount of characters where typed, for instance 4 ...

IF you ask them to do then they will never rate your post ,
i saw many members they have written text for rating their replies as signature in their post
Thanks and Regards

This is not a good solution. As christian suggested, you can use AJAX to get the results with out refreshing the page. AJAX toolkit comes with a suggest control, which will be suitable for your requirement.

Hello Guys.
I have been trying to set up IIS but obviously missed a few thins.I missed the creation of a virtual directory but now yes I have managed to do so.
Another way is to setup a virtual server(ASP.NET) without using IIS.
Has anyone used this method before. When googling, all I got was "%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\WebDev.WebServer.EXE" /port:1001 /path:"%CD%" /vpath:"/myWebSite"
But dont know where to start, unlike with IIS.
Can anyone help guys.Thanx in advance.

I think you have to type this in Visual studio console.

I have managed to setup my page in ASP.NET virtual server but I get the massage that "unable to debug on the server.Unable to connect to the webserver.Verify that the webserver is running and incoming HTTP request are not blocked by a firewall."
How do I fix this??

We had a similar issue, and was fixed by adding the site to trusted site's list. Try that

Hi folks! I am new here and i search for my question and find nothing here..
Now i am developing a web application which has to many custom javascript blocks and it includes ms-ajax.
Sometimes js codes are written into an external .js file, sometimes they are written into aspx file, some times they are registered from code-behind. Think about how it is getting messy. This might also lead to script conflicts as you might guess.
So what i want to learn is; is there a BEST way for this coding style (arranging js scripts in an very effective way in terms of programmer view and application convenience)?

There is no rules available on this. I always prefer to write them in a js file. Because it seperates javascript block from the ASPX, and I felt it's easy too.

Don't you ever need creating dynamic js code?
I think there must be an approach to put script blocks to places that are most suitable. I am just looking for an advice

What do you mean by dynamic JS code ?
xenonysf wrote: I think there must be an approach to put script blocks to places that are most suitable
This depends on the programmer. Putting javascript in js file or putting it in ASPX page won't make any performance difference. I used to do this depends on the requirement. If the page contains big javascript block, I prefer to keep them in external JS file. If it is in a custom server control I prefer to use web resources concept by embedding the javascript files.
Hope this helps

I mean creating a js code by code-behind.
like string script = "jscodecode" + var +"codeceode"; ...
ok I got what you mean i think. Thanks

This is not a good method until you rally need it. It will be tough to maintain. If you are doing this to get some values from server, you can directly use them in javascript by putting it into a server executable block.
