Check for Date Values..... not duplicating?

I am doing an application in which i want to check the column values Date format
with that i stored in Database..

For eg:

The employee details are entered and the date is given as 20/10/2007.
I wanna enter another details but never the date should be entered twice..

As the user logs in he can enter new data, but can edit only a data field with a

date specified earlier...

In short a date should appear only once in database,,

Please help me....

I think that best way to do this is to create insert store procedure. Inside proc you ought first check if insert date exist like:
select * from table where columnDate = insert date param.
if @@rowcount > 0 it means that date exeist and you shoud return some custom error for handling in your application.
else you do insert.

hi frns

i have developed a small web application in Visual Studio 2005.
when i am running my application from the vs its ok but if i close the vs and give the same url in the browser it is shows me an error stating

"Server cannot access application directory 'E:\datasetfill\'. The directory does not exist or is not accessible because of security settings."
any way also i havent saved my application in e:\datasetfill then i copied my applnand pasted in e:\datasetfill then is giving

"Configuration Error "

i also created a virtual directory for that folder

can any one gimme a suggestion/solution to solve this problem

I am using VS 2005 and I need to write a web part to read number of unread email messages from the exchange server by passing the user credentials from share point portal (Single Sign On Service).

Does any body know how to achive this?

i want to change the default dayabase for login control as bydefault it uses Sqlserver 2005 database,But i want to use my own ms-acess database.
how it is possible????

u can't change it... if u want to use ur own database...u have to use ur own controls instead of login control...

I have an application running on the server,lately I've had problems with it I keep getting the configuration error below. Add the reference of rystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine on the server machine,if u r using setup file then add the same dll in the prerequisites of he setup project.

Hi....

The problem is it is unable to find the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine dll
solution is to add reference in the application and while deploying the application you need to ensure that dll is present in server,if it is not there in server then you need to add that dll in to your server.

What validations you have to make ?
if one of the check box must click then
write a javascript or create custom control for it

checkBoxList control is not supported by any of the typical validation controls.

I have a dropdownlist control which i populate it on the client side using Java script. But while post back I do not get the dropdown data on the server.
Could you please tell me how to achieve this.

One obvious way is to send it to the server with AJAX. Another is to put your data in a hidden field, comma seperated perhaps.

Regarding problem in viewing crystal reports

Hi,

I have created a crystal report in crystal report XI and using a typed dataset xsd file for the report (I have given same column name which i used in the query)

And I used Load method to load the report and set the datasource.
I use the dataset 'Merge' to merge the XSD schema dataset with the dataset which I populate using the query. I have created some reports. It works fine.
But I have one cross tab report. For that cross-tab report, in runtime after the dataset is filled and merged fine. Also it binds it to the crystal report without any error.

But at last it gives the page showing the
'The report you requested requires further information.' - message and
asking userid, password... Even after I gave the info, it didnt display the cross-tab report. I am annoyed with this problem.

Can anyone please help me out in this problem? I am very much thankful to you..

Yes. It is possible.

Something like this:
