broken (non-)link now

- use PRE tags to preserve formatting when showing multi-line code snippets
- before you ask a question here, search CodeProject, then Google

It seems to be fine now. However, it is still in 'UserItems' (Uncategorized) and waiting for an editor to browse it under closer scrutiny to move it unto an appropriate category.

If you have a look at the post just before my post here: my correct post[^] you will see that the previous post (the permalink does not seem to work for that post) has to signatures: one which belongs to the author of that post and another one that belongs to me. My post has disappeared. Perhaps we posted at the same time and somehow the posts collided. If you have a list of my posts through my profile, it lists two posts with the same title but the first one has disappeared. What has happened?

Your signature was malformed. I've fixed it

So the problem was not with the post. Strange that it happened with signature as I haven't changed it for quite a long time

I noticed a couple of people just posted their first articles. When you view their profile, it says:
Articles Submitted 1 - Browser
By definition, anyone who has submitted 1-4 articles is a "Contributor," while those who have submitted none are a Browser.
Just a nit...

When you do an article search and get back the results, it would be nice if we had the [^] functionality like we do for links in forum posts. This way, we could open the links in other windows/tabs.

It's more a thought process than an actual system.

OT: The latest patch from VMWare seems to have sorted out all my problems with it.

Has it? I'll download it and give it a go then.

Well I've had some problems with the motherboard (lack of audio, or rather just lots of static) so it went off, I can't actually remember what stage I got to but when I booted up VMWare it said there was a patch available, I downloaded it and haven't experienced any problems so far (but haven't had any time to investigate all the problems I had).

The new CodeProject is like the 'Sivaji' (Rajinikanth) film. There were news about its release even since 2006 but only hit the screens sometime in June 2007.
It was a great wait worth watching.

Well I think this has been slightly longer, more like Duke Nukem's latest game (I think I've got the right one, where they've been talking about it for years).

There are certain people in the C# / ASP.NET that constantly cross post / duplicate posts / and generally have a bad attitude. I imagine this happens in other forums. This is not the usual 'plz help quick - I need a banking adminstration application' question. They sometimes have real questions, but they abuse the boards.
How about a 'cross poster' link, similar to the 'abuse / spam' buttons that only the MVPs can see and if pressed the OPs name is suffixed with a black spot so we know these people are generally 'bad eggs'?
Or is that what the abuse button is for?
You could also have an 'un bad egg' option, so if they start to behave, then they get their black spot removed.

For some reason, I thought this was referring to some form of accident blackspot.

The C# forum is like a bad car crash half the time so it's a valid subject line.
How's the tooth?

Fair point.

I understand the frustration but I'd prefer each question be judged on its own merits, not pre-judged by who posted it.
So saying, I do want to instoduce a Good Question / Dumb Question button pair to replace the voting in forums so that the good questions bubble up and the bad...disappear...
cheers,

Sounds good to me, but won't the OP just delete the 'dumb' question though, which will leave dangling threads?
