Hi
In edit mode of the gridview, I have provide date picker. For this I am opening a new page containing the calender using java script:
window.open('CalendarPopUp.aspx?textbox=tbxSetDate','cal','width=250,height=225,left=270,top=180')
But I am unable to take the selected date back to the parent page.
When I am trying to access the textbox of the current row in gridview's rowcommand like:
TextBox tbxSetDate= (TextBox)(GridView2.Rows[Int32.Parse(e.CommandArgument.ToString())].Cells[2].FindControl("TextBox2"));
I am getting null instead of the textbox object.
Any idea here?
Regards,
Rocky

Hi Rakesh,
When you go into edit mode the e.CommandArgument is not working some of the times. Therefore it is likely you cannot find your textbox in that row.
I use the following to get the correct row number.
GridViewRow row = (GridViewRow)((Control)e.CommandSource).Parent.Parent
you can try it and see.

Session is not project specific. It's site specific. Is this two projects works on same virtual directory ?

It is in same virtual directory itself

When a new project is created, automatically one virtual directory will be created on IIS. Goto IIS settings and check another virtual directory exist for the second project. If exist remove one.

Sounds like your application is running in a folder below another
application. You need to create it as an application in IIS (so it
looks like a virtual directory) - otherwise you can't change certain
settings such as the authentication mode.

Remote server or an Intranet server ? Windows authentication works only with intranet applications

In ASP.NET 2.0, one page can be posted to other by specifying PostBackURL value for the control.

In ASP.NET 2.0, controls like Button having a new property called PostBackURL . Set this to the other page where values has to be passed. When Button is clicked ASP.NET will send all values in current page to specified page.

Hi,
I am parsing a CSV file and storing it in database. All the table fields are varchar. The CSV file has a column called Date which is in the format 11/11/2007 where i checked the Format Cells it displays date. The problem is when i save this field in the database it automatically saves as 11/11/2007 12:00:00 AM. I need not want to the time to get saved. Can any one please help me out.

You might be using a DateTime /Smalldatetime data type. It always append time with it. Try using varchar instead.
No i am using varchar datatype only.
Instead of storing in the database, i displayed in the grid it shows the same with Time.

Are you reading this columns value through a datetime variable in page ?
This is what i do
string ConStr = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + path + ";Extended Properties=\"Text;HDR=No;FMT=Delimited\\\"";
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection conn = new System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection(ConStr);
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter da = new System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter("Select * from " + file, conn);
da.Fill(ds, "TextFile");
DGCsv.DataSource = ds.Tables[0].DefaultView;

A DataTime value always has a date and a time component. If you don't specify the time component, it becomes zero (or 12:00 AM).
You should change the data type of the database field into datetime, if you store the date as text you can't work with the value. WHen you display the value, you just format it the way that you want it.

string ConStr = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + path + ";Extended Properties=\"Text;HDR=No;FMT=Delimited\\\"";
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection conn = new System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection(ConStr);
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter da = new System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter("Select * from " + file, conn);
da.Fill(ds, "TextFile");
DGCsv.DataSource = ds.Tables[0].DefaultView;
