I'm a beginer of ASP.NET developing.
I use some dll file for converting video to flv on web.
So, My Website runs sucessful on VS2005. but when client connect this web page, following error message is displayed.
Server Error in '/VideoUpload' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXX} failed due to the following error: 800401f9.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXX} failed due to the following error: 800401f9.
Source Error:
The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:
1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:
<%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>
or:
2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:
<configuration>
<system.web>
<compilation debug="true">
Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.
Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

Does the site the machine runs on have the COM component installed ? Why would you be using a web site to upload video and convert it ? If your app is taking a file path and then converting the file, the issue is that on your local machine, the file exists on the same machine as the COM dll, but for the user, that won't be the case.

Hi
guys can any one let me know the reasons for IE crash while using .Net web application , which are specific to the .Net web application and caused by the .Net web application due to some error in code or any cioinfirguration issue,thankx in advance,
kindly reply ASAP,

Wow - I can't imagine how you used so many characters to tell us so little.
If IE crashes, the issue is not specific to .NET. .NET just generates HTML. If you're getting an error message, it's because of errors in your code.

Hi,
I have a question about gridviews. I have a gridview in my code, in code behind I associate a List with the gridview when the page is first loaded but after that when I try to handle the PageIndexChanging event, the grid's datasource is null. And the funny thing is that when I select the second page of the grid, nothing happens but for the second selection it really takes me to the second page. Again, if I want to come back to the first page, it won't let me just for the second try but the result is worse because it messes up the rows, so I don't get back all of the rows of the first page just a subset of it. My question about this mess is what do I have to do to have the datasource visible after postbacks. Do I have to bind the gridview to the datasource each time the page is requested?
Sorry for the lengthy post but i'm really confused and not know what to do. I would like to have clear look on this instead of writing some garbage code to handle this. Any help is appreciated!

It depends on how you handle paging. Ideally, your gridview will request the current page of data, and therefore ask for the data for the newly requested page when you change pages. If you have 10,000 items, and 10 per page, would you want to hold 10,000 items in viewstate ?

So I know what u're saying but my problem just wasn't that. The scenario is as follows: the user requests the page with a get variable which is a file name, I download a file from a database, get specific entries out of it and store that collection in session state; if the user changes the page I get out the entries from session state, and that's it. What I didn't know is that I have to bind the datasource each time to the gridview and furthermore I realised that I have to bind it again when the event occurs, otherwise it won't work properly.
So I just wanted to say what i've already learned from a short examination.
Thanks for your suggestion, happy coding!

Why have you posted your question again? You only posted your original question 30mins ago.
Don't you know that it is rude to do this? You won't necessarily get an immediate response to your question. This is a free site, so unless you are going to pay someone for advice you should be prepared to wait.
I've answered your first post. Please read it and remember not to double-post in future.

I gave you the link to the documentation that shows you how to use the Image.GetThumbnailImage method to create a thumbnail image. The other tasks - uploading an image, saving an image to the file system, displaying an image in a web page should be trivial. What is it that you don't understand? There will be plenty of examples on the web to implement these individual tasks if you search for them.
You're not going to find a single article where you can cut-and-paste the code to immediately solve your problem. As a developer, you should be able to apply your problem-solving and research skills to find a solution. It's not going to be handed on a plate to you.
