Hi, I have made a web service and when I build the application the Begin and End Methods for the service do not appear. For this I created the Begin and End Method Myself, but still when I compile it, the Begin and End methods do not appear.
Also, the windows application where I am adding the web reference to this service, the Begin and End methods do not appear and therefore I am not able to make aynchronous calls to the methods of the webservice.
Its urgent. Kindly help. I am using C#.

None.

So, you're saying you want to search your database. How is that a major task ?
Sandep H S wrote: ....its urgent...
That's great, because everyone else today has said 'it's not urgent', thus pushing you to the head of the queue....
Do you know any SQL at all ? Or does your site not have a database back end ( i.e. it's a disaster )

It'd be okay if the head of the queue is at the edge of some very, very high cliff with shark infested waters below

how come you can say this to a bunch of people who offers free help ?
Sandep H S wrote: I am not understanding how to develop search engine
It depends on what your search is targeted ? If your search is targeted the products which is in the shopping site, I recommend you to create a table and store all the keywords for the projects here. Index the table to get good performance. When user enters search criteria, search on this table and show the results. This table has to be updated when new products are added/deleted.
If you are looking for a complete site search, there are plenty of articles available here. Search for it.

No. Most people around here help on their own free time and will.

Hello Experts,
I developed a desktop application using C#.net 2005.
I also have a digital certificate and I want to attach it with my assembly I.e. abc.exe.
In .net IDE at signing tab
1. I check the Sign the ClickOnce manifests
and in that I also select the appropriate certificate.
2. I also enter the right time stamp URL
and
3. I also sign the assembly with storng name using a .pfx File
When I build the application it builds successfully.
But when I right click the abc.exe file and see the properties of it,
It does not cointains any certificate..
Where I creating the problem please help....

private void OnChanged(object source, FileSystemEventArgs e)
{
if(e.ChangeType == WatcherChangeTypes.Created)
{
txtFolder.text += "File " + e.FullPath + "has been " + e.ChangeType;
using(StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(e.FullPath))
{
string name = e.Name;
string content = sr.ReadToEnd();
sr.Close();
SendMessage(false);
}
}
}
The above code i am using on OnChanged event of FileSystemWatcher class,
I have some question or problem:
1) whenever a file is created in this folder (which i m loooking),
everytime the create message is displayed properly, but sometime the function which i m calling(inside using {....}) is not executed or dont get called (dont know the reason)
why is this?
2)There is an error coming
"Execute Reader require an open & available connection. The connection's current state is open, executing".
This error come only sometime, why ?
plz ignore if some typing mistake in code
thanks,
Humdum

You should not call Close() inside a using block for that instance.

you can use type casting.
see the following example:
int i=40;
char c = (char)i;
hope this helps

Hey guyz,
I am currently working on a project and using many ddl files.
My question is.. How to protect those dll files so that when I deploy it on the client machine.. nobody can leech and use it for themselves?
I hope you guyz got my point.
Thanks.

You can protect the methods by using internal access modifier. Internal members can be access only in the same assembly.
|
|
|
|

Oke. I know that.
But the problem is.. I use the same dll for other apps too. Its kinda a shared dll. What to do about that?
Also.. Is there a way where I can merge all the dll's in one single file or any other way to manage them so that it doesnt look ugly
Thanks for the help.

Make sure only you can call those libraries. You basically just need to have some mechanism to put someone off (the idea of stealing), by making it break when they attempt to use it.

Oke.. Allright.. So basically.. there is no simple way of safeguarding a dll.
So.. Atleast.. is there a way.. I can organize all the ddl's a subfolder?
Suppose.. I have an application say.. Abc.exe
So when I Build it.. The exe and the dll gets copied to the bin folder.
How can I make it store all the dll in a subfolder?
Thanks.

Create a sub folder inside bin directory, copy dll's over there, and refer it from there.
|
|
|
|
|
So will that work the same way.. even if I were to change the location of the folder or after I deploy?
