Only making sure we're talking about the same thing:
You're speaking about "Notify Control", but there's no such thing. Do you mean the NotifyIcon control?
Did you try setting the Visible property after your form has been loaded (for example in the Load event handler?

Hi,
if you are refering to a NotifyIcon, then you should:
- add a NotifyIcon to your main form
- set its Visible property to true
- set its Icon property to some icon
- luanch your app
- look for the result in the Notify area of the task bar.
BTW: you may want to read my TrayIconBuster article.

Maybe someone can point me to the right website, or even the right search phrase.
Basically, I want to make a program that takes all the paramaters and creates a program based on that.
I want a program that searches for a certain file in a certain folder, but I want these options to be variable, though I want them hard coded into the exe that is deployed.
I hope that makes sense.

This sounds a little like a compiler-compiler ...have you searched info on lexers and parsers? There are these programs out there called 'LEX' and 'YACC' and freeer ones called 'FLEX' and 'BISON' that create a hard coded compiler programs based on input...might be a place to start.

Here is what I posted in your other post:
Just use a datagrid. After data is input, then you need to code the saving code on the save button. Not much else we can help you with since you did not give any real information about database schema, etc.

hi
i have a datagridView to show records and some textBoxes to bind to DataGridView Selected Row Data, for this work i make a method to load data and another method to bind my textBoxes, here is my method :
private void BindData()<br />
{<br />
this.txt_customerID.DataBindings.Add("Text", this.dt, "customerID");<br />
this.txt_companyName.DataBindings.Add("Text", this.dt, "companyName");<br />
this.txt_city.DataBindings.Add("Text", this.dt, "city");<br />
this.txt_country.DataBindings.Add("Text", this.dt, "country"); <br />
}
and in this event, i call above method :
private void dataGridView1_SelectionChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
this.BindData();<br />
}
but in runTime, when i click button to load data and bind Controls, the follwing exception thrown :
This causes two bindings in the collection to bind to the same property.
Parameter name: binding
how to solve mu problem and how to bind my textBoxs Correctly ?
thankas

Hey all,
I need to load a photo, Display it in a picturebox then "draw" a rectangle area that i want to crop an example would be if i wanted to make a head shot out of a regular photo
i know how to find and load the photo in to the picture box but I'm not sure how to define the crop i want
any ideas

add in some mouse events for the picture box.
When the user clicks with the mouse, register its location (so, a start point)
When the user releases, register the loaction and you have an end point.
Now, create a new bitmap the same width and hieght as your selected area.
Create a new graphics object from your new bitmap (Graphics.FromImage)
Then draw the selected area of the picture box's image, to your new bitmap
Rectangle srcRect = new Rectangle(start.x, start.y, end.x-start.x, end.y-start.y)
myGraphics.DrawImage(myPictureBox.Image, 0,0, srcRect, GraphicsUnit.Pixel)
Then, set your pictures image to the bitmap you created earlier. Don't forget to dispose of your graphics objects and whatnot.
You also may need to add some checking between the start and end points, so you don't have any negative values around.
As for drawing the rectangle you want to crop as your dragging the mouse, register for the OnPaint event, and draw a rectangle between the start point, and the current location of the mouse.
I hope i havn't been to confusing there, i just kinda typed as i thought.

Hello,
I'm trying to make a program where I modify properties of a lot of buttons. The names are sequential, like button1, button2, etc. all the way to button81. Buttons 82 through 90, though, I don't want to mess with--they have a different purpose.
I can't remember how to do this and I definitely don't want to modify each one individually. Any pointers?
Thanks for your time,
Michael Fritzius

<br />
for(int i=1; i<91;i++)<br />
{<br />
this.Controls["button"+i].Text="this is button number "+i.ToString();<br />
}<br />
|
|
|
|
|
It would work fine, but he doesn't want to mess with buttons 82 through 90.

Oh I forgot then. Then it will look like this:
<br />
for(int i=1; i<82;i++)<br />
{<br />
this.Controls["button"+i].Text="this is button number "+i.ToString();<br />
}<br />
|
|
|
|
|
Could always throw in a switch/if block if there is a range within the loop he wants to skip

Look, if you want to skip a small portion of a loop, and an if statement, and continue:
for(int i=0; i<100; i++) {
if(i >= 82 && i <= 90)
continue;
this.Controls[whatever]...
}

Yeah, there are alot of ways we could get creative with it

You could do all sorts of things. I still like the idea of creating the buttons dynamically though. Of course then if you needed to change them, hmm.

I think you should create them dynamically at runtime.

Wow I haven't gotten the chance to come back and say thanks to everyone who gave answers. But I took the advice of the first person, which is what I needed, because I need to still modify the buttons during the program.
Thanks to all!
