Just a technical note... If it starts with zero, you're using ANSI and not ASCII.
For instance...
ALT+65 is the ASCII letter 'A'
ALT+065 is the ANSI letter 'A'

I've had a memory leak problem for weeks that I just couldn't find. And recently I came across a memory leak detector called Glowcode. Using a demo of it I found my problem and fixed it in a couple of hours. Excellent!
The company I work for are now prepared to buy this handy utility or something similar. I've also had a program called Memory Sleuth 3 recommended to me. Now I don't know which to choose.
Any thoughts, GlowCode or Memory Sleuth or something else?

Well, on your advice, i used Glowcode to find memory leaks on my project a few weeks ago, and I´ve found it awesome. However, I do not know the other, but i´ve often heard about boundchecker.

I'm glad you like GlowCode, its great isn't it?
BoundsChecker is a bit expensive for me.
I'm going to try and get a demo of this other software 'Memory Sleuth 3' that has been recommended, so that I can compare them. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting.

Havent used any other, however I like bounds checker a lot.
It tells you exactly where memory leak is occuring, but I think it is quite expensive though.

Yeah, sadly the price is the problem with BoundsChecker.
In theory of course it might pay for its self, but we are a very small company and we can't really justify it. So we are looking for something a bit cheaper.

With the file explorer on XP or 2000 , you can display image with the pellicule mode (or miniature)
But, windows displays only common format ( .jpg, tif, gif, ...)
So, my soft can read an other format (im5)
How can I complete the explorer display ? with a plug-in ?
with a link in th register table ?
with com object ?
thank you

Hello, "brothers"!
Help me know, how can I hide some process from the task list under NT/2000/XP? One way, that I know, is a embedding of the new thread into the currently existing project, but I need to install the hook in this thread and details of that embedding isn't so close to me.
I will be grateful for any answers and suggetions.
Best regards,
-Elijah

Maybe you need to install Platform SDK.

How do you manipulate a service from console (running, starting, stopping)?

Do you mean in code from a console app, or just typing at the command prompt? If its in code, the same way as normal (StartService etc.). If you mean at the command prompt use SC.EXE

It was about the command prompt.
I've tried SC but it cannot be find by the system. It must be something like net start

It is 'net start service_name'. I think SC is available only on XP.

Net Start service name to start it
And
Net Stop service name to stop it
