Sort the data in your database query that you use to populate your DataTable.

I think in VB.NET its ValueMember as I didn't work in VB6 for quite a long time you can try this property as it says "The Property to use as an actual value for the items in the control" to suit your needs.
Hope it helps !

Use the System.IO.File.ReadAllLines to read the contents of the file into an array. Then use string manipulation methods to split each line into its constituent parts.

You could use a StreamReader[^] if you are concerned about memory usage, although 2000 lines doesn't seem like that much data.

You would use ADO.NET[^] to import the data into MS Access.

This forum is for asking specific VB(.NET) programming questions. No one is just going to do your work and give you the code.

Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to trigger an event whenever a video frame is being refreshed (e.g., every 50 ms for a 20 fps frame rate)? It can be either with DirectX or WMP SDK (or anything else within .NET. Alternatively, I could poll the video player and ask which frame is being played. Can't do that either at this point.
Thank you,
Yigal Agam

I am working on a program that needs a simple stacked bar graph (4 stacked values, 3 bars). I am doing it in VB due to all the math involved in the project. I have been searching for ways to do this, but all I have found are commercial controls that cost hundreds of dollars. The simplicity of the graphs and the scope of the program make this unreasonable (considering the $60 control as a last resort - csXGraph).
Any suggestions?

If you are using VB.NET, you could draw the graph yourself using the classes in the System.Drawing namespace. I don't know about classic VB as I haven't used it for years.

You can also use ZedGraph -
http://www.zedgraph.org[^]
Works incredibly well, has the feature you're asking for, you just pass it x and y values. You'd need to use VB.NET though unless you want to do a ton of COM interop, so this may rule it out since you're using VB.

I have a project created in VB5 and migrated to VB6, VBNet 2003, and VBNet 2005.
I recently placed some labels on the form. When I clicked on the labels VS created the code to handle the click event. I placed my code in the event handler.
When I ran the project in the debugger I clicked on the labels. Nothing happened!
Labels are more complicated in 2005 compared to 2003.
I checked their properties. Enabled is true. I don't see any others that would apply.
What am I missing?
Thanks
RCarey

On the Sub that handles the Click, does something similar to "Handles LabelName.Click" follow it?
The code that VS created should look something like:
<br />
Private Sub Label1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Label1.Click<br />
<br />
End Sub<br />
I hope this helps,
Mitch
