Can you not backup your database completely (to a .bak file), create a new empty database, and then restore in your backup to the new database?
Seems a little more simple.

Hello,
I have a dataset that is populated with a "customers" table. Some fields in this table include CustomerID, LastName and FirstName.
I am trying to search through this dataset to find a specific customer and display its related information into textboxes for example.
I am lost as to how to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated.

On an invoice capture form, I have a binding sources bindingSourceHead, and bindingSourceCust[1]. The bindingSourceCust links to a DataTable that contains a list of customer ID, Name rows. I have a ComboBox comboCustomerId with its DataSource property set to bindingSourceCust, and its DataMember and ValueMember properties set to CustomerId and CustomerName, respectively. In the databindings for the combo, I set SelectedValue to "bindingSourceHead - CustomerId", and all is well.
Now, my problem comes in where I try an additional, explicit update to the invoice header when the customer selection changes. The first time I select a new customer, the ContactPerson column in the invoice header updates, but the CustomerId does not. The ContactPerson change is lost on EndEdit. When I try again, I get the error: "DataTable internal index is corrupted: '5'." I have searched myself blue in the face and found nothing helpful on this except a pathetic drooling by some MS employee that they may have fixed this issue in Orcas. If I remove the Selected value binding of the combo, everything works, except I need to explicitly set the selected customer on the combo when I load an invoice, and explicitly set the customerId on the header when the combo changes selection. The following code only works when the SelectedValue data binding on the combo is set to None:
private void comboCustomerId_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
ComboBox cb = sender as ComboBox;
if ((cb != null) && (cb.SelectedValue != null))
{
SetDefaultsForCustomer((int)cb.SelectedValue);
}
}
private void SetDefaultsForCustomer(int customerId)
{
CustomerDefaultsTableAdapter adap = new CustomerDefaultsTableAdapter();
InvoiceDataSet.CustomerDefaultsDataTable dfc = adap.GetData(customerId);
InvoiceDataSet.CustomerDefaultsRow cust = dfc.Rows[0] as InvoiceDataSet.CustomerDefaultsRow;
DataRowView drv = (DataRowView)bindingSourceHead.Current;
InvoiceDataSet.InvoiceRow ir = drv.Row as InvoiceDataSet.InvoiceRow;
if (ir != null)
{
ir.CustomerId = cust.CustomerId;
ir.CustomerContact = cust.ContactPerson;
}
[1] I also have a bindingSourceLines, but this doesn't seem to be playing a role in my issues.

Please advise.

It looks ugly (in my opinion), but that is it. You are permitted to use pretty much anything you like upto 128 characters. Certain sequences will require the name to be enclosed in sqaure brackets (using underscores is not one of them)

Hello!
There are number of reporting softwares, depends on the usage! For extremely elegent and quality dashboards & guages i personally prefer Dundas. I am not marketing them just recommending and praising the software!
It also depends in what environment you are going to use it, MS Sharepoint Portal server offers such items as well.
.NET Charting is also pretty handy.

Please, I need to know how to read xml document (created with dataSet.WriteXml) with ado.net 2.0 and update the corresponding table in the database with those values.
I wrote this test code:
using (DataSet ds = new DataSet())
using (SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(connectionString))
using (SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter("select * from TableName", conn))
{
try
{
da.Fill(ds);
ds.ReadXml(@"C:\xmldataset.XML");
ds.AcceptChanges();
da.Update(ds);
}
[...]
Nevertheless, the values in the database haven't been modified, after.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need to make the other server, Server2, allow trusted connections. Have you configured it to allow other connections outside of it's machine?

Use the TOP predicate. Select the TOP 1 record which is not in the set of TOP 4 records.
