hello Michael,
It's exactly what I mean and I'd like avoid the third party tools. I find many on the net but I get some specifics needs to reach and I want to develop something to extract the information from logfiles and save it in a database.
If you get any idea or any code snippet, I'll be great!

Sorry. man.. I was thinking to suggest you to try some thrid party tools (e.g. statscounter or reinvigorate)... If you don't want to use any third-party tool then it's okay.. For me, I don't like to develop something that is already available on the net..
you are thinking to read the weblog of your host?? I think that the format of log file might be differ from one host to another..

well i have drop downlist in which i want to populate two coloumns of the table from Database "emp"(say the coloumns are firstname and lastname).what will be the respective code for it in c#.net ?

either you can concatenate the first and last Name at the stored proc level or you can do before binding it to the Dropdownlist (at the presentation level). try something like this while binding the data.
LocalDataSet = SelectAll()<br />
ddl.DataValueField = "ID"<br />
ddl.DataTextField = "FirstName" + " " + "LastName"<br />
ddl.DataSource = LocalDataSet<br />
ddl.DataBind()

concatenate firstname and lastname in sql query like as select firstname+ '' + lastname as name from emp
now you can bind DataTextField with name
ddl.Datatextfield="Name"

i have done my Project in VS 2005 .. i Precompiled it and uploaded to the Server.
now i have changed the code in ONE aspx.vb file
and i uploaded the Following Files
bin directory
precompiled aspx page
Precompiled.web..
but i get an error
am i following the Correct Method..i am wrong please suggest me the process

while inserting iam sending datas with image, like each product have one image..so datas storing in db table.. images storing in a folder....so now if i give the condition than datafield with perticular image has to be displayd in a new file.

iam having page of 10 text box and corresponding 10 browser select, in textbook iam entering product name and uploading a image to represent that picture.
So data should store in table and image iam storing in a folder, that is working.
Now i want to retrieve that images on a new page, i have created 26 separate state , those who are entering there product details in there particular state has to be displayed in those respective city page, in that particular state page those products has to be displayed according to the respective image they uploaded.

Did you save the corroesponding picture path with the porduct.
i mean , you have a product text box and browse button.
Give product name to "Computer" and upload a picture on a folder.
So store , the imagepath along the productname with the table and retrive when required. Check this one

Do you mean to say 'on the click of a particular record on the DataGrid you want to display the details in the TextBoxes outside the DataGrid? If yes then You can write the code on the ItemCommand event of the DataGrid which will be fired when you click on the DataGrid link.

bind linkbutton with grid...on select find control....find value ...fill data according to value in dataset...pass to textbox...

hello,
If the data you want to display came from a binded data source, you could put your textbox in edititemtemplate section, bind it to right item to display and make a linkbutton (or a button) as itemtemplate. When a user click the linkbutton, use edititemindex in itemcommand event to make your grid in edit mode.
