Hi,
I know this isn't the right forum for this question. But i love this site, but i don't like the fact that it doesn't support java forum. So i'm posting my question here.
The problem is:
I'm using netBeans v 6.0 beta 2 and I have a problem with the system class
I write this simple line of code: system.out.println("something...");
And an error shows saying that system class does not exist.
But everything else works. The class java exists...
Thank you!

hi,
1.My QVGA device can display bitmaps perfectly alright.
However, when displaying the same bitmaps on a VGA(480x640) device the bitmaps
seem to appear only half the size seen on my QVGA(240x320) device screen.
Can someone advise me how do I enlarge those bitmaps accordingly
on my VGA device?
I would greatly appreciate if your advice can help me.
Here are bits of the code I have written:
-extract from a *.cpp file:
LRESULT CSIPMainWindow::OnPaint(UINT uMsg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam, BOOL& bHandled)
{
CPaintDC paintDC(*this);
WTL::CDCHandle renderingDC(paintDC);
CDC memDC;
CBitmap memBitmap;
HBITMAP oldBitmap = 0;
RECT rect;
GetClientRect(&rect);
memDC.CreateCompatibleDC(paintDC);
if (! memDC.IsNull())
{
memBitmap.CreateCompatibleBitmap(paintDC,rect.right-rect.left,rect.bottom-rect.top);
if (! memBitmap.IsNull())
{
oldBitmap = memDC.SelectBitmap(memBitmap);
renderingDC = memDC;
}
}
int iBmpID;
if (m_pCurrentIMWnd == m_paInputMethodWnd[2])
{
iBmpID = IDB_BITMAP_SYMBOLS;
} else
{
if(m_bIsCapMode == true && m_bIsPredMode == true)
{
iBmpID = IDB_BITMAP_T9P_CAP;
}
if(m_bIsCapMode == true && m_bIsPredMode == false)
{
iBmpID = IDB_BITMAP_T9M_CAP;
}
if(m_bIsCapMode == false && m_bIsPredMode == true)
{
iBmpID = IDB_BITMAP_T9P;
}
if(m_bIsCapMode == false && m_bIsPredMode == false)
{
iBmpID = IDB_BITMAP_T9M;
}
}
int iLogox, iLogoy,iBmpX, iBmpY;
iLogox= k_iDallabLogoX;
iLogoy= k_iDallabLogoY;
iBmpX = k_iIMBmpX;
iBmpY = k_iIMBmpY;
DrawSingleBitmap(renderingDC,IDB_BITMAP_DALLABLOGO,iLogox,iLogoy);
DrawSingleBitmap(renderingDC,iBmpID,iBmpX,iBmpY);
if (static_cast<HDC>(renderingDC) == static_cast<HDC>(memDC))
{
//paintDC.BitBlt(0, 0, rect.right-rect.left, rect.bottom-rect.top,renderingDC, 0, 0,SRCCOPY);
paintDC.StretchBlt(0, 0, rect.right-rect.left, rect.bottom-rect.top,renderingDC, 0, 0,rect.right-rect.left, rect.bottom-rect.top,SRCCOPY);
memDC.SelectBitmap(oldBitmap);
}
return 0;
}
- extract from a *.h file:
const RECT g_rectScreenArea = {0,250,240,294};//OK
const RECT g_rectScreenAreaHorizontal = {0,170,320,214};//OK
const RECT g_rectClientArea = {0,0,240,44};//OK
const RECT g_rectClientAreaHorizontal = {40,0,280,44};//OK
//left,top,right,bottom//
const RECT g_vgarectScreenArea = {0,500,480,600}; //ok but must make it double the size
const RECT g_vgarectScreenAreaHorizontal ={0,340,640,430);//ok but size must be double
const RECT g_vgarectClientArea = {58,0,480,44}; //ok but must make it double the size
const RECT g_vgarectClientAreaHorizontal = {58,0,580,44};//ok but size must be double
2.Also, I have switched from the BitBlt function to StretchBlt function but it doesn't seem to help. S.O.S

Hi Denise,

See http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms889979.aspx[^] and following pages.
You might use the DRA namespace functions located in <Microsoft Visual Studio 8>\VC\ce\atlmfc\include\DeviceResolutionAware.h.
Cheers,

Are you sure that your window has focus and handles the keyboard messages?

I'm not sure that my window has focus and handles the keyboard messages.
Basically I just reused an existing code which works perfectly fine on a device with numeric keypad.
So what should I do now?

Hallo All,
I have a problem with wml and asp.net. I wrote wml deck which calls an aspx page. when I try to test it on my emulator , its giving "Page not available" message. I didnt understand why is this. My supervisor told me its because of web.config but I didnt understand what kind of changes I should do to the web.config.
I found that there is Mobile Internet Toolkit using asp.net, is it compulsory to download the Mobile Internet Tool kit to work with wml.
Could anyone please tell me, things to be done while working with wml and asp.net.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanking you very much,
Regards,

Hi,
I have to create a Pocket PC database file (*.sdf) on my PC. I intended to call several web services to get data and create a 'localDB.sdf' with a program running on my PC. I have created windows application project but I could not add reference to the System.Data.SqlServerCE assembly.
The System.Data.SqlServerCe didn't appear in the .net references tab. I had browsed and added the assembly manually but it didn't work because my framework is 2.0 and the assembly looks for CF 2.0.
How can I use the SqlCeEngine class in a Windows application? Or can I create a *.sdf file using a different class?
thanks,
- ferudun

Don't cross post.
You've asked this same question in 4 different forums, all within a 10 minute time span.
The people here answer questions on a volunteer basis and may not respond in a timeframe you desire or find acceptable.
I've responded to your initial message here[^].

I`m working with .NET compact framework 1.1 unfortunatelly. Combobox does have event KeyPress, but it is not a design property. I suppose that th reason is that this event is "disabled" - so it never fires.
Could anyone please help me - how could I capture an key press event on combobox? Anyhow...
Thank you very much for any help in advance

This is a new area for me and I'm still hacking my way through it, so I would greatly appreciate any insight or a push in the right direction. I have a process that needs to be notified when dhclient (which is launched by an unrelated process in another application) finishes configuring the network device and fetches the IP address and all. Is there a way to hook into dhclient for the first process to get notification events from dhclient? I'm currently considering doing it from the dhclient-exit-hooks script that is invoked on dhclient exit, but I am curious if OMAPI can be used instead? The man-page for dhclient says such control of dhclient is possible through the use of OMAPI, but the man-pages for OMAPI and and dhcpctl claim it's used to get info from the DHCP server only...

Hello All,
I'm trying to build a simple test from a command line ( MSVS 8 ).
If it is a WIn32 desktop program, I write:
cl.exe test.c user32.lib
and the test.exe is built successfully.
For a mobile binary with the same test.c I write:
cl.exe test.c user32.lib /link /SUBSYSTEM:WINDOWSCE
and get the following unresolved externals:
LIBCMT.lib(wincrt0.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol ___ImageBase
LIBCMT.lib(pesect.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol ___ImageBase
LIBCMT.lib(wincrt0.obj) : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _WinMain@16 referenced in function ___tmainCRTStartup
Which library must I add to the command line to resolve them ?
Regards,
Alexander Kresin.

Building a mobile application from the command line was traditionally a real bitch, because you need to reset all sorts of paths. In Visual Studio, go to Tools, Options, then expand Projects and Solutions, VC++ Directories, and change Platform to Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK. Then look at Executable Files, Include Files and Library Files. To get a successful command-line build, you need to set the PATH, INCLUDE and LIB folders as per these settings.
Next, you need to understand that Windows CE changes some of the core DLLs and hence the import library you use. It does not have kernel32, user32, gdi32, or advapi32. Instead it has a single core library, coredll.dll. To use this you link with coredll.lib.
Coredll also implements the standard Windows CE C runtime library, rather than this being a separate DLL. Visual Studio 2005 does add a few extra functions not implemented by coredll in msvcr80.dll, but the coredll implementation is mainly used.
I generally avoid the pain by simply running devenv.com with the /Build switch. That saves having to get and keep both your build scripts and Visual Studio up to date and in sync with each other.
