Hi there,
i want to set opacity of picturebox like form,
i know its a very common question, and i searched on lots of sites but didnt find any good answer
can some tell how or any article about it?

I don't think you can, I think you need to draw the image yourself and use the ImageAttributes class to set the opacity.

I'm using propertygrid to display my class properties in it. My code is just Like:
public partial class AddressType
{
.......
.......
}
public partial class Person {
private AddressType homeAddressField;
public AddressType HomeAddress
{
get {
return this.homeAddressField;
}
set {
this.homeAddressField = value;
}
}
}
PropertyGrid just shows the Person Having field HomeAddress. But I can't expand HomeAddress to see AddressType (which is also a class and have actual address properties).
I used ExpandableObjectConverter just like:
[System.ComponentModel.TypeConverter(typeof(System.ComponentModel.ExpandableObjectConverter))]
public partial class AddressType
{
.......
.......
}
[System.ComponentModel.TypeConverter(typeof(System.ComponentModel.ExpandableObjectConverter))]
public partial class Person {

Please help me how can I tell propertygrid to expand when one class contains another class object.

Hey this is my first post in this forum i wish if you can help me
i have downloaded 2 C# application from API forum but the point that i need to put this 2 software together to be as one program that have all the features of each one
in other words
i have 2 programs one of them has MDI features and the other on has many filters i want to add the MDI one to the filters or the opposite in order to use the features of both (MDI and filters)
in one program only to be able to use all the features of Each program within one program

Compile them both as a dlls, then build an application that loads those 2 dlls. If you need help with these steps, ask specific questions as possible.

Just cast the value as a char:
char letter = array[0];
You can set a char using a letter 'a', an int 52, or a hex value 0x00
Of course you'll want some kind of loop to do that, and use an array of chars. Infact, there may be something in the string class, i'll go look now.

Aha, i knew that encoder class was somewhere:
string myText = System.Text.ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetString(array);

I'm writing a small program. When the program runs it displays the license terms. It's about 2 pages long. How would I store that in the program? Like in a string array? I don't want to have any other files other than the executable itself. I'm working in Visual Studio 2005 (C#).

Hello,
I am a bit new at this, but I have an active x control that has been converted to stdole.IPictureDisp, and I am trying to convert it to an image or bit map to display on the form. I thought the Axhost.GetPicturefromIPicture might be able to do it. But I am unable to get it to work. Would anyone have some examples?

Hi,
i have an array of bytes i need to convert to a Korean string but i don't know how. I tried
char[] chars_array = System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(949).GetString(bytes_array).ToCharArray();<br />
korean_string = new String(char_array);
but it ends with square and ! ? characters.
Any idea

Where does the array of bytes come from? Have you tried different encodings, like UTF-8 or UTF-16?

works perfectly, the message box show the good string in Korean.
I then add the string to a listview, so is there any option to set to show the Korean characters in the listview?
*edit ok it's resolved the problem came from the font i used in the listview

You may have to change the font that your listview uses to show Korean. There's a universal Arial font that has CJK characters.
By the way, I took your Korean characters and pasted them into a text file in VS2005 and saved it with 'Unicode - Codepage 1200' encoding. After the identifying BOM in the file, I get: 74 C7 C8 D0 AC B9 44 C5.

Hi, I a have a massive collection based on keys and values containing 500000 items.
the keys are int64 objects and values are strings.
My question is, if there is any collection type that allowes to search the collection keys (like for exapmle: finding the value of item between 1000 to 1002?), because meanwhile i'm storing it in a datatable and using the Select function to retrieve the datarow, which in this case takes a while each time, so if there is any collection which allowes to search, I'm sure it will be mutch faster.

If you are using .NET 2.0 or higher then try downloading PowerCollections from the codeplex or wintellect site.

It has an OrderedDictionary class that can be used to extract key value pairs in a range, e.g.,
foreach(KeyValuePair<tkey, tvalue=""> pair in dictionary.Range(from, to)) { // (API simplified slightly)
// process pair
}
PowerCollections is dead easy to use. It's just a natural extension of the BCL generic classes.
I don't know what the performance will be like on your data size though.
There is another collection library called C5 that's more advanced but more difficult to use and less well documented.
