Hi Dmitriy!
I guess, that the way you have to go is OLEDB Provider....so search for this on MSDN....and CodeProject too of course

I am trying to change the hostname in win9x and NT and then alert the DHCP server that I have a
new name so he can update DNS. Ideally I want this to happen without rebooting, but I realize this may not be possible.
Currently, when I change the client hostname (Win9x - HKLM\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\VxD\MSTCP\HostName
& NT/2000 - HKLM\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\TCPIP\PARAMETERS\Hostname) and reboot the DHCP server
still uses the old name in DNS. Even if I release and renew the client's ip lease the DHCP server still uses the old name.
However, when the client's name is changed via the network applet and rebooted the DHCP server does change the name
in DNS. If anyone has any insight I would be grateful.
PS. I am using a CISCO dhcp server if it matters.

If you install the security update to Outlook 98/2000 the CMC mail functions are no longer available. Is there another simple way of sending a mail message with an attached file without knowing which program is being used for mail.
Thanks in advance

Ok, I've created a "full control" in atl object wizard.
Edit, radio, etc - ok, except listbox nd combo.
The subclassed listbox control window somehow becomes a little bit smaller, then dimensions i used in m_ctlZZZ.Create(...,rect,...)
why?
where to debug?

Use the listbox style LBS_NOINTEGRALHEIGHT to create the control. This disables the automatic resizing of the listbox ...

I'm having a somewhat difficult time interfacing my ATL COM object that uses connection points to an MFC application. It's really easy in Visual Basic or in an ATL exe, but seems a real bear in MFC. A tutorial on this would really be great.

Ah well. Maybe I'll just write the tutorial myself now. It sure isn't easy in MFC but I got it.

Hello,
I would like to access the information stored in the Appointments & Tasks databases residing in the object store of a Windows CE machine (I have a Palm-size MIPS PC with CE 2.11). So far, I've managed to access (read/write) the contacts database, but I can't do the same for the other two, because I do not know the application defined ID's (and their meaning) required to read/change database records.
I know this is possible, since I've seen other commercial and freeware applications for CE doing the same, without using POOM. The reason I do not want to use POOM (besides the fact that I'm to lazy to learn COM) is that it's so bloated! 260kB .DLL just for seeking a calendar entry? How's on earth Microsoft hopes to succeed in taking over Palm, if doing such simple tasks require so bloated code
Any ideas or help are much appreciated

Dear friend:
I see you message.I am very happy to read it and Thank your help.I know there is not very clear to my question.I describe it again.I am a chinese student,my English is not very good,so I try my best to let you know my mean.If you don’t understand ,I will write to you again. My Email: zx8@sina.com
We have the framegrabber but it’s not my focus,because I make the software of Pattern recognition,so the hardware is not my business J
My work is use VC++ to make a software to actualize the orientation of the car’s nember of a image.It’s find the location of the car’s nember tag in the image.It’s not distinguish the car’s nember,it’s been done by another one.My location is hard to distinguishL
There are about three functions,they are…
1. the location of the Gray scale space
In a Gray scale space,there are many different figure,because the most nember card has simile venation. In the Gray scale space they are simile show and change.so we can analyse the figure of Gray scale find the nember card’s location.It will use artificial intelligence network’s BP arithmetic.
2. Sharpening \Boundary detection and grads
3. Gray density and Boubdary density
4. Analysing the color distributing and hue space because the nember tag is pure color like black white and blue.
Now the biggest difficulty in my way is I can not find the VC++ code of these methods,if you can find some,plese let me know.
Thanks
Your zox

I wanted to know whether it is possible to access individual pins of a serial port using the MSComm control in VB.I want to interface the Pc with an ADC card, and need to know whether it is possible to send Start _of_Conversion pulse to the ADC using the MSComm control.
I'm using this for real time data acquisition.So I wanted to know whether it is a good idea to use the serial port in the first place.
|
|
|
|
|
Is the ADC card external to the PC?
If the MSComm control has control of the DTR / DSR lines, then you can use one those to pulse the serial port.
As to the real-time aspect, that depends upon how fast you need the real-time acquisition to take place. A serial port is deterministic in that it can move data at a constant rate, but Windows is not a real-time operating system, so it may take time to receive that data.
If you only need a few conversions per second, then you should be fine, depending on how much data there is to move.

I'm working on a binary expression tree parser and cannot figure out how to call the stack push method with a binary tree of only one node. I tried this, but got a segmentation fault: stack<char> theStack;
BinaryTree<char>* tree1;
tree1 = new BinaryTree<char> ('A');
theStack.push(*tree1);
As you can see, my BinaryTree uses only constructors to insert values (prevents the need for helper functions).
How would you push a binary tree onto a stack using these .h files? (i'm using c++ of course):
/*********BinaryTree.h*********/
#include <stddef.h>
#include <iostream.h>
template<class node_type="">
class BinaryTree
{
private:
template<class node_type="">
struct Tree_Node
{
Node_Type Node_Info;
BinaryTree<node_type> * left;
BinaryTree<node_type> * right;
};
Tree_Node<node_type> * root;
// prints value within a given node to screen void visit();
// helper function for remove
Node_Type replace(BinaryTree<node_type> *whichTree);
public:
// function: sets root to NULL
BinaryTree();
// function: sets Node_Info=nodeValue, left=NULL,
// and right=NULL
BinaryTree(Node_Type nodeValue);
// function: set Node_Info=nodeValue, left=leftTree,
// and right=rightTree
BinaryTree(Node_Type nodeValue,
BinaryTree<node_type> * leftTree,
BinaryTree<node_type> * rightTree);
// function: class destructor
~BinaryTree();
// function: accepts one parameter of Node_Type and
// removes the node with that value
BinaryTree<node_type> * remove(Node_Type nodeValue);
// function: accept one parameter of Node_Type and
// return true if that value is in the tree
// otherwise false is returned
bool search(const Node_Type nodeValue);
// function: returns true if root=NULL,otherwise,
// false is returned
bool isEmpty();
// function: performs an inOrder traversal of a tree
void inOrder();
// function: performs a preOrder traversal of a tree
void preOrder();
// function: performs a postOrder traversal of tree
void postOrder();
};
/******************************************************/
/********Stack.h*********/
template<class etype="">
struct Element
{
eType StackElement;
Element<etype>* Next;
};
template<class etype="">
class stack
{
private:
Element<etype>* Top_Pointer;
public:
stack();
// Class constructor

I'll be really happy if anyone out there has C++ code for Simplex alg...
|
|
|
|
|
Quite hard to code in C++, without some huge library to handle vectors and matrix operations. I have some code for Matlab, I think there's a sort of C/C++ compiler around to make stand-alone executables.

hy,
u can get it from
http://www.crt.umontreal.ca/~denis/
http://www.bates.edu/~apearson/code/simplex/dsimp.txt (but I guess tis in Java )
http://www-b2.is.tokushima-u.ac.jp/~ikeda/suuri/simplex/Simplex.html
And if ur really interested in more bout it .. u can goto "Michael Trick's Operations Research Page" at
