Thank you very much for your suggestion but, i am not expecting a tutorial from you. I am just expecting an idea on how to go for it.

Here is the idea.
1. Suppose: You have two tables called Restaurant (e.g ResID, ResName) and the available foods (e.g. ResID, FoodID, FoodName)
2. Join those both table
3. Get the count of available food, create the temp table or table variable, fill the data (if you have the static count for food name then this step is not necessary).
4. return those data to DataSet
5. Bind this dataset with Gridview.
That's all.

My database looks like this
SNo Restaurent Items
1 Rest1 Item1
2 Rest1 Item2
3 Rest1 Item4
4 Rest2 Item1
5 Rest2 Item3
6 Rest2 Item4
7 Rest3 Item2
8 Rest3 Item3
And in the Report, Y Axis should be Restaurent values and X-axis should be Item values. And wherever there is a matching point, a tick mark should come.
Thank you

You can use Process.Start() . but this will start the application in server, not in client machine.

Hi,
no need to convert into string again bcoz Textbox's Text property is returning string only.
Just write below line
string USL = ((TextBox)gvLimit.FooterRow.FindControl("txtAssUSL")).Text
Thanks,

I'm looking for a flowchart control but can't find one that doesn't cost a fortune.
Does anyone know of a good flowcharting control, that is preferably free?

I have added some validation controls to my page. Sometimes, when the input is valid, the submit button will do nothing except when I click it twice. When the input is invalid, it will work when the page first loads but will not when a user will click cancel. Validations seems to work almost as it should. I have the search form and the cancel confirmation all on the same page on a multiview. Any idea as to what could cause having to click submit twice before valid input is accepted?
Thanks

Does anyone have experience with EasyCGI (windows) hosting?
I am particularly interested to know if there is a delay when sending an email from your ASP.NET application.

I'd say a lot of bulk hosts can have email delays, because they run a lot of sites and they all share a mail server.

Hello!
I have a serious problem. I'm working on a web application which uses an oracle database connection. I have three kind of users and I would like to restrict some users to access some pages on the server. I've overriden the RoleProvider class and implemented some functionality in it but the problem is that I can't make it work. It gives me an error message that it can't establish a connection with sql server (I don't even use it). So, my questions are the following:
- if I use an implemented RoleProvider class, will I be able to distinguish to users which belong to different roles and therefore deny access to some resources on the server?
- can I use the OracleClient class as usual to implement the specific methods needed?
- is any other way to implement this kind of functionality?
I've search the web for a day and I haven't find anything useful yet, I've found some documentation about how to implement this stuff using an ms sql server but what about an oracle database, I could ask.
So, any help is very appreciated! Thanks in advance!

AFAIK, you would have to write your own custom providers in order to store Membership data in an Oracle database.
However after a quick web search I found the following article[^] which contains a ready-built provider for Oracle.

I've already written a RoleProvider implementation for my application but I can't make it work. I've looked at the article you mentioned but I don't really see the point there. All I need is to deny access to some users to see some specific pages on my site.

What do you mean? A database table or a HTML table?
What part of the problem are you specifically stuck with? What have you tried to do yourself?

i am developing a shopping cart, i am using a table from the northwind database to practice with(Products table) i have loaded this table in to a datagrid and have addded a button called "Add" so when the user clicks the button it will put that row into a table which is the cart so then the user can view what he/she is buying.

Hello all. I have a GridView and a DetailsView which is bounded to the first one, so that when I click in the Grid's "select" command, it shows the related data in the DetailsView. So far, this is working smoothly.
However, now I have a table with two primary keys. I changed the declaration of my asp:GridView tag and edited the DataKeyNames to include both primary keys. So I run the ASP.NET. So far, I have this data:
PK1 PK2 DESC
=========================
1 1 Desc1
1 2 Desc2
1 3 Desc3
where both PK1 and PK2 are primary keys. The grid shows the data correctly. When I select the first item, the DetailsView displays the data correctly. However, when selecting the second or third row, it does not select anything (furthermore, not even the controls --textboxes-- are shown).
So I believe it has something to do with the fact of having two primary keys, even though I specified them in the GridView control.
I'm I missing something here? Has anybody ran into the same problem? A clue? I've googled and so far I've found sites saying that multiple primary keys are allowed, yet they do not remark any particular aspect for doing so.
Thanks in advance.

So, I solved it. What I did was to capture the GridView's SelectedIndexChanged. There, I placed the following code:
DataKey dataKey = CatalogGridView.SelectedDataKey;
_detailsDataSource.SelectParameters["IdAtributo"].DefaultValue =
dataKey["IdAtributo"].ToString();
_detailsDataSource.SelectParameters["IdRol"].DefaultValue =
dataKey["IdRol"].ToString();
_catalogDetailView.DataBind();
where _detailsDataSource is the... well, the data source associated to the DetailsView _catalogDetailView . Before this, I had the following declaration of my data source's select parameters:
<SelectParameters>
<asp:ControlParameter Name="IdAtributo" Type="String" Size="5" ControlID="_catalogGridView"/>
<asp:ControlParameter Name="IdRol" Type="String" Size="5" ControlID="_catalogGridView"/>
</SelectParameters>
While this works perfectly when having only one primary key (the GridView passes the selected index to this data source and hence the DetailsView is updated automatically), for some unexplained reason it is not working with multiple primary keys. Thus, I just passed the values manually in the GridView's SelectedIndexChanged and DataBind ed the control manually.
Now it is working perfectly. Notice however that the parameters cannot be of type asp:ControlParameter , but rather they must be simple asp:Parameter .
Thanks anyway.
