Hello,
Can anybody help me regarding logic, how to check that perticular files have already installed or not in local system during installation of desktop application.
Actually i've created a desktop application. Now for that application, some microsoft.sqlserver files must be installed in the local system.
I want that during installtion of my desktop application, there should be a way for checking that .sqlserver files have installed. If not then, it prompt to the user that those files must be installed for this desktop application.
Please help me about this asap...

If you are using ClickOnce, you can add the SQL server as the pre-requisition... No coding required.
If you wanna check the registry, you can also check this key. "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion" too.

I know that it can be done by using custom action in your installer class but I'm not very familiar with normal setup because I used to use ClickOnce in the most of my projects... so, if you want to know about custom action, you can search in google. ..net setup and deployment with custom action[^]
If you want to use Clickonce then you just need to check the pre-requisition button in publishing page..

thanx Michael,
I dont want to install anything during installation of my desktop application.
I just want that during installation, installer check that perticular files have been installed or not on the user's local system and prompt to the user that for this desktop application these files must be installed on your system.
After prompting this message, installation of my desktop application must be completed.
I think you are getting my problem.
Please provide help accordingly.
I am waiting for your reply..
Plz provide asap...
Thanx

how i can focus to the textbox after i seleceted a date from ajax calender control... iam placing the date from ajax calender control into the textbox
|
|
|

I don't see why a calendar control needs AJAX.
You write javascript to find the control with document.getElementById and you call it's focus() method. But, if you want to just write the date in there, in code, you don't need to focus on it, just set the text properties.

How can i make my App flash enabled?
|
|
|
|

Depends what you mean. If you want to show a flash, you just embedd it with HTML. If Flash allows you to interact with javascript, you can use hidden fields to store stuff you want to send back to ASP.NET.

Christian has given you an idea about implementing this. I reiterate, you need to index all the pages and store it in a database. Query the database and return URL. Alternatively, you can search website using Microsoft index services[^]

|
|
|
|
You need to create a database that indexes your web pages, and then search that. It needs to build indexes so that the page URLs you found are returned.

add an onclick to the button. Any attributes that are not recognised by ASP.NET are passed through verbatim to the client.

You can use the onItemDatabound event of the datagrid to achieve this functionality. In that event just find the link button control and attach the javascript event with it.
