No. You might want to look around on amazon's developer site for a forum there.

Dear All.
When I publish an application, there are 2 root folders created something like
the first one
...\Apps\2.0\N2NJKNK\JHKJ7897KJ\appl..tion_ace7blkjnjn_0100.0000_534535 - where my app.exe file stored
and the second one
...\Apps\2.0\N2NJKNK\JHKJ7897KJ\appl..exe_ace7blkjnjn_0100.0000_768976 7 -
where my resource files stored (some.exe, data.sdf)
So to access to my resource (eg data.sdf) I have to do like that:
"..\\appl..exe_ace7blkjnjn_0100.0000_7689767\\data.sdf "
The question: is there any proper way to get to that "...\appl..exe_..." folder

The solution is to use Application.UserAppDataPath instead of Application.StartupPath
internal sealed partial class Settings {<br />
<br />
public Settings() {<br />
this.SettingsLoaded += new System.Configuration.SettingsLoadedEventHandler(Settings_SettingsLoaded);<br />
}<br />
<br />
void Settings_SettingsLoaded( object sender, System.Configuration.SettingsLoadedEventArgs e ) {<br />
String dataDirectory;<br />
if (( AppDomain.CurrentDomain.DomainManager != null ) && AppDomain.CurrentDomain.DomainManager.ToString().Contains("VSHost")) {<br />
dataDirectory = Application.StartupPath;<br />
}<br />
else {<br />
dataDirectory = <big>Application.UserAppDataPath</big>;<br />
}<br />
this["test1ConnectionString"] = Settings.Default.test1ConnectionString.Replace(".\\", dataDirectory + "\\");
}

I'm not familiar with crystal report. So I ask the stupid question.
I know we can use crystal report in Java. We can also use crystal report in .NET framework.
Question NO.1
So is crystal report a work of some company's?
Or crystal report is a protocol, an interface?
Question NO.2
Is there a crystal report for C++? (not managed C++)
It's very kind of you if you answer my question to clear my mind.

Probably through some kind of double buffering on the area you want to paint.

Hi All,
Does anyone knows how to connect to multiple dynamic endpoints from a WCF Client?
I cant use svcutil.exe to generate proxy.cs because the
services are only exposed during runtime. I did some research on ChannelFactory, but dont seems to get what i want.
Any Help with be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi all ,
I have a .Net Application that is going to be used in a workgroup environment , I installed the app on the server machine and the suftware runs successfully and connects to sql server with no problem , I also installed prerequisites such as .Net framework 2.0 on lient computer and shared the app folder which is located on server machine . on client machine , When I want to run the app from UNC FileShare I get fatal error that asks to send error to microsoft , but when I copy the entire folder from UNC FileShare to local client , the app connects to server successfully and user can work with software. What's is the problem in your opinion?
Note : I also made the shared folder FullControl and also adjusted Entire Zone in Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Configuration to FullTrust(On Server machine) , What causes this problem you think?
Thanks in advance (Emergency!)

It's called "Code Access Security". Any code running from a non-local (i.e.: Shared folder or other network source) is NOT trusted by default. You have to tell the .NET CLR to trust the code comming from a certain source.
Read this[^] post and follow the three links in it.

Note : I don't get security exception , I receive the following error :
" myAppName has ecountered a problem and needs to close , sorry for inconvenience ....."

Hi,
I just started playing around with the 3D functionalities in WPF and have a problem now:
I have a ViewPort3D to which I added a cube. To one side of this cube I have applied a material like this:
MeshGeometry3D plane = new MeshGeometry3D();
Point3DCollection points = new Point3DCollection();
points.Add(new Point3D(p1X, p1Y, p1Z));
points.Add(new Point3D(p2X, p2Y, p2Z));
points.Add(new Point3D(p3X, p3Y, p3Z));
points.Add(new Point3D(p4X, p4Y, p4Z));
plane.Positions = points;
Int32Collection indices = new Int32Collection();
indices.Add(0);
indices.Add(1);
indices.Add(2);
indices.Add(0);
indices.Add(2);
indices.Add(3);
plane.TriangleIndices = indices;
PointCollection texturePoints = new PointCollection();
texturePoints.Add(new Point(0, 0));
texturePoints.Add(new Point(0, 1));
texturePoints.Add(new Point(1, 1));
texturePoints.Add(new Point(1, 0));
plane.TextureCoordinates = texturePoints;
ImageBrush brush = new ImageBrush();
brush.ImageSource = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"C:\test1.jpg"));
DiffuseMaterial material = new DiffuseMaterial(brush);
GeometryModel3D result = new GeometryModel3D(plane, material);
Everything work fine with "small" images. I have a supa dupa cube with a clear texture. But if I use images where the width or height has more than 2000 pixels than I see a weird tiled result on my cube. Has anyone here had any problems with large images in 3D WPF? Any hints are appreciated.

Hi,
how do I change the Registry-Key permissons from my own tool?
Under Vista the Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing is owned by the trusted installer and so also Administrators only have read permissions. But I must write into the Key. So, how do I change the permissions for the admin group to full access?
Is there a function to do this?
thx

There are no managed code functions that can do this. You could do this by using some interop to the native API's, but I don't recommend it. Why do you need to write to this key any time other than at install time? If you just need to store run-time information, there are other registry keys that your application has access to that you should be using instead. If you actually need to change this key, you need to learn how to do it the correct way and play properly within the permissions by using a manifest file for your application and splitting that feature out into a separate module (application) that can run with elevated privileges or make your entire application require elevated privs to run (not recommended as well).

Sorry can't talk about it, but I must add a key into this folder.
What are the Win32 API functions to change the permissions?

You can try these articles for more information:
http://blogs.msdn.com/asanto/archive/2006/01/22/516009.aspx[^]
http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread259111.html[^]
However, you are still probably better off doing this the "right" way and either doing this only at install time, or write the application following the Vista security rules (using application manifests, etc.) If you must do this, you will need to either run the application with admin privileges or launch a separate elevated process (application) that manipulates this key in response to the user clicking a button, etc. that will prompt for credentials. You might also be able to get around this by running in XP Compatability mode, but that's just a workaround.
Scott.

Im writing a program to monitor my horrible Wlan card, and id like to include the signal strength there. Now the problem is that i cant find a property for signal strength anywhere.
Microsofts WLan API is more geared towards managing(connecting and profiling SSIDs) from what ive seen, and NetworkInterfaces dont apply directly to wireless cards and hence dont have this property.
Any help on this?

I think the only place you're going to be able to get this is from the card's driver. There's no API that I can find to give you this information easily.
The problem with going the driver route is that there really isn't going to be any documentation on it. Your research skills will have to be top-notch to get this. And by "research" I don't mean just Googling until you find the answer. I mean reading how others have done it (mostly on UNIX systems from what I can see) and writing test code to find out what it really does and what might and might not work for you and your card.
