Without seeing your HTML/CSS there's not a lot I can do to help, but I can offer you a piece of advice. When you develop a website don't develop it against IE6. Instead, develop it against FireFox and then view it in IE6. You may find some differences in appearance, but these are generally well known and are documented in sites such as alistapart[^]. You can then make the tweaks indicated to get it to run in IE6 (possibly using Quirks mode).

Hi Guys,
I want to block the customer from logging in after 3 continuous attempts.I would like to block them for some duration(eg. 6 hours) so that they will not be able to login during that time period and afterwards the block is released.
If anybody have coding or suggestion for my problem. please do reply.
Thanks
Jith

you could set a string value to count number of times user has attempted and match against current date. Then have if statement along lines of
if string value is = 3 and date = current date then error message = You have been restricted for 3 hours etc
|
|
|
|
|
Why a string value specifically?

Insert all login attempts to a database table which contains username, datetime and login success.
As part of the authentication process do a select count for the username where the login success is false for a given time period. If the count is greater than 2 then reject the login and display a nice informative message.

|
Add a couple of fields to your user table in the DB, e.g. NUMBER_FAILED_ATTEMPTS & DATE_OF_LAST_LOGIN. You can then code to increment the number on a failed login attempt and then check if you are blocked where number > 3 and date within 6 hours.

Yes much better suggestion, a database table is probably more secure to display this info, you could also set it up to clear the fields after 6 hours

Why are you re posting.[^]. I will give you the same answer as you previously got, do 2 separate inserts, one for each textbox into the same table.

Thanks, actually i need to have any number of dynamically created text boxes when ever user clicks on more button. From that i need to fetch the values and save it into the database table in a single column as different rows.
Again when showing the data in the text box after binding the text boxes that particular record should be shown in that particular text box from where it has been fetched.
Thanks
Imran

Ok, in your database table you will need to associate an Id value with each text value, add an Id column with an auto generated id.
After you bind the textboxes and submit the form you can loop through the textboxes and
check for an Id value, if none exists then you can insert the new text value as a new row.
If an Id value exists then it already exists in the database so you can use the Id value to Update the existing text value.

Thank You very much
Could you please help me with a small sample code for doing this.
Thanks

If I write it for you then you won't learn anything. You have the basic concepts so you can try to write it yourself, if you get stuck again on a specific problem then post it as a separate question with as much detail as possible.

Ok thanks a lot, i will try. Currently i have written code like this to insert record
private void InsertRecord()
{
try
{
string strInsert = "insert into Quotation" +
"(JobNum, CompNameAdd)"
+ "values('" + this.txtJobNum.Text + "','"
+ this.txtCompNameAdd.Text + "')";
MySqlCommand command = new MySqlCommand(strInsert, Quotation.con);
Quotation.dQuotationAdapter.InsertCommand = command;
//Insert new record
Quotation.dQuotationAdapter.InsertCommand.ExecuteNonQuery();
MessageBox.Show("New Record Saved Successfully");
RefreshRecord();
ClearTextBoxes();
this.txtCompNameAdd.Focus();
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString());
}
}
But in this code i can not insert values from two text boxes into a single column
Thanks
Imran

This is the same code you had in your previous post earlier today[^].
This code is executing 1 Insert statement, which inserts 2 values into the 2 columns of 1 row.
You need to write a statement which insert 1 value into 1 row. You then need to call this statement for each value you want to Insert. This will create a single column of values.

I don't have Visual Web Developer but on Visual Studio there is a Publish Web Site option under the Build menu. If you don't have that then you can use something like SmartFTP to upload to your web server.
