I didn't find anything related to it may be it's called something else. I even tried searching on CP.
Thanks for replying though

I have an idea of what you are trying to accomplish. You may have to create a custom image control that has the source image and the four handles.

But how can i show 8 handles. how to generate them

Take an example, I'd like to see the source code of DataSource,
where can I find it?
|
|
|
|

DataSource? That's a property, several classes have one. Which interests you?

Download Reflector here
It will let you view all the internal workings of an assembly, in several different langauges as well . Great for learning.

The .NET Framework source is being released under a read-only reference license. When we announced that we were releasing the source back in October, some people had concerns about the potential impact of their viewing the source. To help clarify and address these concerns, we made a small change to the license to specifically call out that the license does not apply to users developing software for a non-Windows platform that has “the same or substantially the same features or functionality” as the .NET Framework. If the software you are developing is for Windows platforms, you can look at the code, even if that software has "the same or substantially the same features or functionality" as the .NET Framework.
So don't look you naughty Mono boys, OK

I know that to display a custom control's attribute in a specific category in the PropertyGrid you use:
[Browsable(true), Category("SomeCategory"), Description("Some info....")]
What I would like to do is have one overriding category for my control's attributes (such as "Control Specific") and then have subcategories for more specific things (such as "Colors"). Sort of like under "Appearance" there is "Font". How do I do that?
Thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
In short, you can't define a sub-category. You can have properites be expandable though. In your example, the Appearance property would be of type (say) MyAppearance. MyAppearance type would define it's TypeConverter as ExpandableObjectConverter[^]. Then MyAppearance's properties would be shown in the PropertyGrid (which would include a Font property).
This[^] article describes how to use ICustomTypeDescriptor (which allows you to dynamically change what is shown in the PropertyGrid) and ExpandableObjectConverter.
Take care,
Tom

My application can be minimized to the system tray. It also has code in it to stop from multiple copies of the app to be launched. The problem is that when I try to launch a second copy of the app it does what it should, looks for a running version of the app and if it finds it closes but it still has the taskbar icon till I run my mouse over it then it goes away. How can I clear that out when the app closes?
|
|
|
|
|
Hi Gene,
a NotifyIcon remains visible until you Hide() it or Dispose() it.
If you fail to do so (e.g. when the app crashes, or you stop it while debugging),
it will remain there until you hover it, unless you run a tool that cleans up,
see my TrayIconBuster article.

I need to create a DateTime object on Daylight saving End day contain following value
2008-11-02T02:00:00.0-07:00
for year 2008, daylight saving end Nov 2 (above value is in local time zone, I am Pacific time Zone) -8PST / -7PDT from GMT
Is any way I can create Datetime object containing above value.
If am able to create
2008-11-02T01:59:59.0-07:00 (When I add one second it change to -8)
2008-11-02T01:00:00.0-08:00
I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Samir.

DateTime instance, AddHour method. If you want to subtract, DateTime has a Subtract method that takes a TimeSpan but it's easier to use AddHour with a negative value.

Hi,
Thanks for you reply.
Problem is
In real both value represent same time instance
2008-11-02T02:00:00.0-07:00(this is not exist in DateTime) == 2008-11-02T01:00:00.0-08:00(This is exist)
But I need this value in DateTime object "2008-11-02T02:00:00.0-07:00"
If I use AddHour() member of DateTime
enddate contains "2008-11-02T02:00:00.0-08:00"
enddate = enddate.AddHour(-1) //"2008-11-02T01:00:00.0-08:00"
enddate = enddate.AddHour(-1) //"2008-11-02T01:00:00.0-07:00"
If you have any question, please let me know.
If you can give me some sample I will appreciate it.
Thanks,
-Samir.

Hello everyone, in a windows service i am using log4net and its SmtpAppender to send the exceptions to an email account.
Everything is fine, but the email is a little bit ugly. I want to know if exists some library which take a generic exception and return an string in html format. Something like the yellow pages showing in asp net websites.

Hello everyone,
There is a project here where the next step is to be able to communicate with a mail server. Right now I'm using Telnet to get the job done, but in the near future this will become huge and I need a way to automate this.
When I start, I type: "telnet mail.theserver.com 25". This starts up a connection with theserver on port 25 (the mail server). After that, I'm communicating directly with the server through port 25.
I need to be able to automatically send information through this port using C# so that I can have an interface, instead of typing everything by hand. I found a few leads that have to do with sockets, sending and listening for data, and I'm stuck.
Is there a way to do what I want with a minimum of trouble? I just need something that lets me open a connection to an IP address and a port, and start sending and receiving info.
Thanks for your time,
Michael Fritzius
