hi all,
got a nasty one. Trying to get the selecteditem that a user clicks in an gridview, however the gridview is in an update panel. At first i thought the problem was with the session state - but what actually happens is the update panel does a postback sends everything back to the server but the server only sends back whats in the update panels.
The main problem is when a user clicks the button, this causes an asynchronous postback the event fire in a different order to normal so i detected the button that was pressed after the page load event has fired and therefore miss capturing from session.
Has anyone solved this?

i have a girdview inside a panel, i have include css
.TblHeaderFixed
{ position:relative;
top:expression(this.offsetParent.scrollTop-2);
}
in GridView i have inclued as shown
HeaderStyle-CssClass="TblHeaderFixed"
i find the header fixed but it creeps out of the div or panel in which the grid is placed. The DataRow of the grid however remains within the div. but only the header is out.
Note this same concept works in .net 2003 but header creeps out in .net 2005. please help.......

I have a project which consist of updatepanel. In that panel i have a popup
Inside popup I have text boxex which are validated using required field validator. In the same popup I have save button.
Actually I those validator doesnt work.
When I click save button with one text box empty I post the page and save the balnk data of that popup.
Actually I need to remain in same popup in any text box is empty.
I have browse the page in IE and firefox but It doesn't work.
please tell me what the problem and Its solution.
BUT In my friends computer It works well.

But have problem when i choose file > 5MB after that click submit
My IE or Firefox have error:

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

ASP.NET defaults the upload limit to 4MB. You can increase this in the web.config file. See this[^]

iam having a textbox where i stopped to write some thing in the text using onkeydown return fale but how i can stop the user if the user select complete text and cilck right click mouse and select delete or cut

I don't know how to handle specific to textbox but you can enable it for the whole page add removed="return false" to the body tag and check
If you don't want alter the textbox value better to make that textbox readonly

Hello all, I have two queries related to user control.
One, how can i include a .js and .css file in an .ascx page? Are we allowed to use tag, if yes then can I just include them as usual by using tag?
Two, I have an HTML(not aspx) page which i want to convert to a user control. I have javascript functions being called on the "load" and "onmousedown" event for the body of the HTML page. But since user contriol do not have body so how do I implement it...?
Please help...

Yes you can do that. Or you can include them in the page where you will use them.

HTML you can convert to user controls. Since it doesn't have a body tag, you should call OnLoad events inside the page where you use them.

The page cannt find document.getElementById(cell), because it (cell) is created in usercontrol.

Have you checked the page source ? Verify the alert is giving the same name which is there in the page source.

Thanks Navaneeth, Finally i got the answer by ur clue, i saw the page source it was different from the id. It includes usercontrolname_id.

Hi all,
iam generating a report and binding it to a grid view. This grid contain too many reports. When iam using window.print the whole report is printed on 1 page with a very very tiny font. while i want the report to go on second and third page etc... if it has too many columns in it.

Hi dears,
I have a website with ASP.NET 2.0
in my website each user has an album that can upload her photos on it.
User should be able to delete images(my website i s hosted on my dedicated server).But its impossible. I did grant delete access for aspnet user to PhotoAlbum directory on server, but I can`t delete any file.
the aspnet user in server is member of users group not administrators group.
I want to know how can I fix this problem ?!

Try impersonating user before you delete and undo the impersonation after you are done. Check this[^] MSDN article for getting an idea on this.
