You could do this using AJAX.
No one is going to write your code for you though. You'll have to do this yourself.

Hi friends,
I am using MS.net 2.0 and MSSQL2000.
I have some doubt regarding automatic alert messages.
I have 3 users like U1,U2,U3.
When U1 submit (insert) a data into the database, an alert message will show to U2 and U3.
Be thankful for any suggestion...

you can use Trigger for that
|
|
|
|
|
Well, you could use a trigger, but that's rather pointless as the web application already knows when it's inserting something. The trigger could only update something in the database that the other clients could poll for, and the web application can do that by itself without a trigger.
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.

|
|
The HTTP protocol doesn't support sending anything from the server to the client. All communication is initiated by the client, so the browser has to poll the server at a regular interval if you want the client to be aware of anything that happens on the server.
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.

Hi every body
I have make a "UserControl" which Contains some other controls. this child controls have som properties like colors, styles and etc which are changable in property window (via using [Browsable] in the property definition). now I want to show this properties in property window for the parent control. I know that a way for this, is to redefine the same properties for my parent control but it's not an optimal way so is there any way to inherit the child control's properties in the parent property window?
one another question, when I set the [Browsable(true)] for my defined properties, it shows no preview of my changings in design window and only after I run it in browser the changings appear. does any one know what should I do?
thanks

hi ,
i want to store a date in sql server and i want to send mail on that day to that person .........
can any one explain me .. how we can do this ?????
thanks
csn
|
|
|
|
|
1) Write a windows service that runs a select every day
2) Create an SQL Server job that gets called daily and write the code in SQL Server
3) Create a scheduled task in windows to execute an app to do the same things.

Hello all. So I have this asp:Table declared in the aspx file. But the rows are created dynamically in the Page_Load method, so I do something like:
for (some conditions here)
{
TextBox txt = new TextBox();
txt.ID = "someId";
TableRow row = new TableRow();
TableCell cell = new TableCell();
cell.Controls.Add(txt);
row.Cells.Add(cell);
...
_table.Rows.Add(row);
}
and it renders the controls quite well. The problem is when I try to access the TextBox control. I tried something like:
TextBox txt = _table.Rows[0].Cells[0].FindControl("someId") as TextBox;
but FindControl is always returning null . I tried _table.Rows[0].FindControl("someId") and it gets nothing.
[Edit]
Ok, it seems that despite the rows being added and displayed, _table.Rows.Count has a zero value. This is kinda weird... Why would such property have a zero value?
[/Edit]
[Edit 2]
I enabled the trace in the page and... the rows and cells are there... This is driving me insane...
[/Edit 2]
Any idea on what am I missing? Or how could I get such control?
Thanks in advance.

Try moving the code that dynamically adds the controls to _table to Page_Init rather than Page_Load.
|
|
|
|
|
Nope, didn't work. Also tried the PreInit event, but then the asp:Table hasn't been created yet and when adding rows it throws a null exception.
Thanks for your answer.

Hmmmm, It's very strange because I don't see a problem. In fact, I just did a quick little test and this code worked just fine. And of course it still works fine with Page_Init as well. You've got to have something outside of what you've posted that is effecting the table.
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
TextBox txtTest = new TextBox();
txtTest.ID = "testText";
txtTest.Text = "Hello World!";
TableRow row = new TableRow();
TableCell cell = new TableCell();
cell.Controls.Add(txtTest);
row.Cells.Add(cell);
tblTest.Rows.Add(row);
}
protected void btnShow_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
TextBox txtTemp = tblTest.Rows[0].Cells[0].FindControl("testText") as TextBox;
lblShow.Text = txtTemp.Text;
}
|
|
|
|
|
Yep, I know. The only thing I can think of is that the IDs are generated dynamically as well just after creating the instance of the control. I'll keep reviewing to see what could it be.
Thanks again!

Well, it's solved. My mistake. The method that created the table was being called from the Page_Load method... if it wasn't a postback. That is, something like.
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!IsPostBack)
{
CreateTable();
}
}
Just removed that and it works as it should be, as in your example above. *goes and sits in a corner ashamed*
Thanks for your help again!

Umm...
First of all C# code runs on the asp.net server, not the client.
Can you open the file if you save the file disk then click Open?
If not then there isn't anything you can do about it in your web application. You should really see what add-in is causing the problem. Once you have that figured out try googling to get more info.
